On September 18, 2025, in Seoul (South Korea), the Vietnam Information Technology Industry Agency (VITIA) under the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam, in collaboration with the National IT Industry Promotion Agency of Korea (NIPA), organized the international conference “Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors – Opportunities for Cooperation and Investment between Vietnam and South Korea.” This is the first international conference on AI and semiconductors held in South Korea, marking the beginning of an annual series of investment promotion activities between the two countries in these cutting-edge technology sectors.
The international conference “Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors – Opportunities for Cooperation and Investment between Vietnam and South Korea.”
The event attracted the participation of leading technology organizations and enterprises from both countries, such as NIPA, Amkor Technology, FPT, and CMC. The conference was recognized as an important forum for sharing experiences, analyzing potential cooperation opportunities, and updating on policies and incentive mechanisms that the Vietnamese Government is implementing for these two strategic industries.
Mr. Nguyễn Vinh Quang from FPT presenting “Global Semiconductor Supply Chain Shifts and Opportunities for Vietnam”
Representing FPT, Mr. Nguyễn Vinh Quang – Director of FPT Semiconductor, FPT Corporation – delivered a presentation titled “Global Semiconductor Supply Chain Shifts and Opportunities for Vietnam.” His remarks emphasized the importance of Vietnam’s deeper participation in the global semiconductor value chain, reaffirming that under the orientation “Make in Vietnam – For the World,” FPT will continue to accompany the Government and the business community in advancing the growth of Vietnam’s semiconductor industry.
Vietnam is becoming a strategic destination for major global technology corporations such as Samsung, Amkor Technology, Hana Micron (South Korea), Intel, Synopsys (USA), Renesas Electronics (Japan), and USI Electronic (Taiwan). These investment inflows not only contribute to the formation of the semiconductor supply chain in Vietnam but also open prospects for closer integration between chip manufacturing and AI applications, generating high added value for the national economy.
Within the framework of the conference, the Vietnam IT Industry Agency signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Korea Fabless Industry Association (KFIA). This milestone marks a crucial step forward, laying the foundation for collaborative R&D projects, technology transfer, human resource development, and ecosystem enhancement in the semiconductor industry between the two nations.
As a pioneering enterprise in Vietnam’s semiconductor sector, FPT continues to affirm its commitment to accompanying the Government, international partners, and the technology community in building a sustainable AI and semiconductor ecosystem, thereby contributing to strengthening Vietnam’s national competitiveness in the digital era.
