FPT Joins Forces with VinaCapital and SHTP, Ready to Act as the “Master Architect” in Ho Chi Minh City’s Journey Toward Becoming an International Mega-City

26/11/2025

Ho Chi Minh City – At the 2025 Autumn Economic Forum, FPT Corporation officially announced two major cooperation agreements with VinaCapital and the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP), affirming its commitment to supporting Ho Chi Minh City in accelerating digital transformation, developing economic and high-tech infrastructure, and advancing the city’s vision of becoming an international mega-city in the digital era.

FPT – VinaCapital Partnership: Green Infrastructure and Smart Urban Development

Mr. Vũ Anh Tú, Chief Technology Officer of FPT Corporation, and Mr. Alex Hambly, CEO of the Investment Council at VinaCapital, announced the strategic partnership.

The Strategic Cooperation Agreement between FPT and VinaCapital (VNC) marks a breakthrough collaboration between two leading groups in technology and finance/investment.

The partnership aims to promote large-scale infrastructure projects aligned with national socio-economic development goals and the strategic directions set out in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on advancing science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

A key focus of the partnership is delivering sustainable energy solutions and smart technology infrastructure.

FPT and VNC will work together to supply transitional and renewable energy for all of FPT’s operations in Vietnam through the Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) mechanism.

Both sides will jointly study and develop integrated urban zones, digital technology campuses, and the Innovation & Technology Campus (ITC) designed to attract high-tech investors—including but not limited to semiconductor manufacturers and suppliers, R&D centers, digital technology enterprises, AI, cloud computing, digital infrastructure, and data center projects in Vietnam.

Notably, the cooperation also expands into developing digital solutions for railway systems and smart transportation.

FPT and VNC will collaborate to build and operate an Operations Control Center (OCC) to manage and coordinate urban transport networks, improving the overall efficiency of urban mobility.

VinaCapital will leverage its investment ecosystem and financial resources to support the execution of joint projects.

FPT – SHTP Collaboration: Strengthening Ho Chi Minh City’s Semiconductor Workforce

Mr. Nguyễn Kỳ Phùng, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park Management Board, and Mr. Vũ Anh Tú, CTO of FPT Corporation, announced the cooperation agreement.

The partnership between SHTP and FPT aims to address the shortage of high-quality semiconductor talent.

The two sides will collaborate on training programs and professional development initiatives to supply a robust, skilled workforce for the semiconductor industry.

SHTP will also facilitate FPT’s deeper participation in the semiconductor supply chain and strengthen links with enterprises operating within the High-Tech Park.

This cooperation comes as SHTP advances its Ho Chi Minh City Semiconductor Technology Development Program for 2026–2030, while FPT continues to expand its comprehensive capabilities in semiconductor training, design, packaging, and testing.

FPT as the “Master Architect” of Ho Chi Minh City’s Digital Transformation

At the Forum, Mr. Vũ Anh Tú, CTO of FPT, highlighted Ho Chi Minh City’s strong performance as one of Vietnam’s leaders in the 2024 National Digital Transformation Index, especially in digital awareness and digital institutional development.

He emphasized that science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation are key drivers of growth, enabling Ho Chi Minh City to realize its goal of deriving 40% of its GRDP from the digital economy by 2030.

Recognizing that the city is at a pivotal moment in its acceleration phase, Mr. Tú reaffirmed FPT’s aspiration to assume the role of the “Master Architect” in the city’s comprehensive digital transformation—covering technology architecture, data ecosystems, advanced infrastructure, and next-generation digital applications.

FPT proposed collaboration across four strategic pillars:

1. Develop a comprehensive digital transformation strategy through 2030, shaping a modern digital government, digital economy, and digital society.

2. Build a city-wide AI ecosystem, including high-performance computing infrastructure and AI platforms for:

 Digital twins for urban management

 Monitoring critical infrastructure

 Traffic and drainage management

 Digital healthcare and digital education

3. Develop connectivity infrastructure, data centers, and cybersecurity systems for the International Financial Center, enabling seamless global integration and training security specialists for the city.

4. Advance digital human resources, through training programs for government officials, nurturing tech talent, supporting digital enterprises, and attracting high-tech investment into the city.

Mr. Tú concluded: “FPT’s aspiration is to help Ho Chi Minh City become an intelligent mega-city and a leading financial–technology hub of Vietnam and the region—where new standards are shaped by the government’s resolve, the city’s vision, and the creativity of the business community.”
