FPT’s revenue hits 1 billion dollars in 2008
A financial year of Vietnam ended with lots of ups and downs and impacts from the global economy. This is also the opportunity for companies to announce their business results in one year and make new steps for the future. With continuous efforts during 2008, FPT’s revenue achieves over 16,806 billion dongs equivalent to over 1 billion dollars, growing at 21% compared with the same period of 2007 and exceeding 12.4% to planned.

Earnings before tax get over 1,249 billion dongs, exceeding 5.6% to year planning and growing at 21.4% compared with the same period of 2007. Earnings after tax of shareholders of parent company reach nearly 839 billion dongs, growing at 13.7%. Basic earnings per share are 5,976 dongs, growing at 12.4%.

FPT Corporation kept developing business lines, in which traditional business lines were focused on and achieved good results. They are: System Integration, Software Outsourcing, Telecom, Education and Distribution.
In revenue, these business lines grow in turn at 49.7%, 43.9%, 44.8%, 97.6% and 10%. They also complete planning of earnings before tax at 135%, 99.3%, 102.3%, 129.1% and 124.7%, respectively.
If we mention Software and Services separately, revenue is over 2,688 billion dongs, growing at 47.7% compared with the same period of 2007 and exceeding 4.7% to planned. Earnings before tax hit 792 billion dongs and grow at 60.7%. The density of Earnings before tax of Software and Services in 2008 accounts for 63.4%, while it only accounts for 47.9% in 2007. This strongly proves that FPT Corporation actually focuses on developing traditional business lines, especially Software and Services. This is also FPT’s strategy in 2009, focusing on globalization and promoting software development and software services.
FPT Corporation ended a positive year compared with the situation of economy. 2009 is forecasted as a year of many obstacles, so FPT will continue to implement proposed plans with maximum profit at 10% or equal to 2008, focus on developing traditional business lines and globalization, strengthening and enhancing investment in software and services fields such as: Software Outsourcing, System Integration, Telecom and Education, especially increasing profit margin from Software and Services. The main methods of corporate governance are:
• Establish different scenarios (bad, average, good) in revenue, costs from the economy, monetary and business results of the company members from which to adjust the plan for next time. Review monthly, or quarterly, or unusually when fluctuation outside arise.
• Strengthen monitoring, control and risk management, especially on debt, inventory, exchange rate fluctuation and investment. Strengthen controlling system and time to control.
