FPT’s revenue increased by 22% after 7 months

Pre-tax profit reached VND 1,398 billion, completing 98% of the 7-month plan. Profit-after-tax was VND 1,179 billion and profit-after-tax of holding company was VND 887 billion, increasing 1% compared to the same period of the prior year. Earning per share (EPS) was VND 2,581.

Software export‘s revenue maintained steady growth, increasing by 21% over the same period, reaching 97% of 7-month plan. Telecommunications also witnessed an increase of 16% compared to the same period, completing 106% of 7-month plan.

In the domestic market, FPT signed a contract to provide rail e-ticket system for VNR in July. This is the first project under public - private partnership (PPP) model. Accordingly, FPT will provide servers and equipment to support VNR to sell tickets online. In return, FPT will get a certain percentage of online ticket sales. This new collaborative model is expected to promote the socialization of investment in IT in order to resolve the issue in budget and capital as a hindrance to IT industry’s growth in recent years.

FPT’s 2014 Annual Report listed Top 10

On July 26, Top 50 Annual Reports in 2014 were honored at the Awards Ceremony by the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange Department and the Securities Investment newspaper.

According to the Organizers, Top 10 including FPT’s one were highly appreciated in terms of content and presentation with visual images, tables and graphs making it easy to approach for readers. Besides, figures in the annual report were analyzed in chronological order, taking into account sensitivity and macro impact in financial market on the business activities of the company.

That FPT was honored for the 7th consecutive year showed FPT leaders’ effort and responsibility in information transparency for shareholders, investors, employees and people with shared interests.

FPT garner bumper crop of ICT Awards again

On July 25, FPT’s member companies including FPT Software, FPT, FPT Aptech and FPT Online continued to be honored at Top 5 and Vietnam ICT Gold Medal 2014 Award.

The FPT Corporation has listed among Top 5 and Vietnam ICT Gold Medal Awards for years. This year, FPT received top awards in categories of software, Information System, Digital Content and IT Training.

This year, ICT gold medals were awarded to 29 businesses in 11 categories including the Best Vietnamese Computer Brand, the Best Information System Enterprise, the Best ICT Retail Enterprise, the Best Digital Content Enterprise, and the Best Software Export Enterprise etc. Then, 22 of these 29 firms were ranked Top 5 ICT Vietnam 2014.

Launch of a new Smart TV Portal developed by FPT

FPT has successfully developed and deployed the new Developer Portal & Application Repository for Smart TV Alliance (STA). The new portal is hosted under the URL ( https://developers.smarttv-alliance.org ).

The new one will provide app developers one-stop service including SDK download, how to develop and conversation exchange on forum, which are tested and certified by STA/FPT. Besides, developers have opportunity to participate in Hackfest by STA for their exchange, learning and competition in app development.

Becoming one member of STA in 2013, FPT is the first and only business of Vietnam to join this alliance.

FPT provide rail e-ticket system for VNR

FPT and Vietnam Railways (VNR) signed a contract for an electronic booking system for VNR in Hanoi, on July 31st.

The system provides customers with all information about trains and publishes the availability of tickets. The online tickets can be purchased anytime and anywhere through various means including messages, emails, electronic boards, smartphones etc.

For VNR, the electronic booking system helps improve the quality of service and provide passengers with flexible adjustment of ticket prices depending on the route and duration of the journey, and increase the demand for railway transportation.

The VND 197 billion project will be completed in three stages over a period of seven years. It is expected that the system will be installed at all stations in the country over six years, starting from November 21st, 2015.

FPT IS provide security advice for Cambodian Government and business

On July 24, FPT Information System Company Ltd. (FPT IS) in collaboration with Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications of Cambodia organized a workshop named "Enhance information security capability for online services” in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The program attracted more than 100 attendants from the government and business sector. The representatives of ministries, state agencies and businesses had exchange with as well as put questions to the security experts from FPT IS and the representative of Juniper, one of the leading security firms in the world.

FPT IS’s representative office in Cambodia was opened in 2010 and upgraded to FPT Information System Cambodia Pte. Ltd one year later. The Company is trying to provide Cambodia with the best services involving in telecommunications, banking and government projects etc.

FPT IS implement SAP ERP for FECON

In the morning of July 17, the opening ceremony of SAP ERP project between FPT IS and FECON took place in Hanoi.

The USD2.5 million SAP ERP project is expected to help FECON Foundation Engineering & Underground Construction JSC with management improvement and resource optimization in a volatile market.

As planned, the project is divided into 3 phases, lasted for 18 months from July 2014 to December 2015.

In particular, phase 1will last 8 months, focusing on management modules. SAP Sales on Demand Plus Revegy will be deployed in Phase 2 in 4 months. Phase 3 will last 6 months with modules of R&D, smart administration planning and reporting tools.

FPT to support Myanmar enterprises to improve competitiveness capabilities

On July 3, 2014, a workshop entitled “ERP – Improve enterprise competitiveness – Towards economic integration” was jointly organized by FPT Myanmar, SAP and ACE Data Systems at the Chatrium Hotel, Yangon (Myanmar with the participation of more than 200 domestic enterprises.

The aim of the Enterprise Resource Planning workshop was to evaluate the opportunities and challenges Myanmar enterprises may encounter when the country officially joins the ASEAN economic community and establishes a stock exchange. By pointing to the outstanding benefits of applying ERP, the workshop helped to address issues that Myanmar enterprises may encounter in the new context.

FPT buy VNG’s ecommerce site

On July 9, FPT completed purchase of 123Mua.vn - the leading e-commerce site in Vietnam. FPT's ecommerce site www.sendo.vn will take over www.123mua.vn and implement the contracts with its customers.

Owning its available technology capacity and taking advantage of 123Mua.vn, FPT will offer customers more new benefits such as national delivery service, transactions by providing guarantees.

After the deal, VNG will keep cooperation with Sendo.vn to provide e-commerce services to over 30 million existing customers of VNG.

"This transaction is an important part of our development strategy in 2014 and in the next few years. This is also a long-term commitment by FPT to develop e-commerce in Viet Nam," Sendo CEOTran Hai Linh said.

"Our objective is to become the e-commerce website with the largest number of transactions by providing high-quality services under guaranteed purchase model."

FPT University win Won First Prize at Coding Inspiration 2014

Software named "Learning Japanese with Maruko" by DigDeep team of FPT University won Won First Prize worth VND 10 million and three scholarships totaling VND 15 millio at Coding Inspiration 2014

Inspiration Coding2014 was launched by Japanese Software club under FPT University in mid June 2014. The contest attracted 23 teams from universities in Hanoi including FPT University, University of Engineering and Technology under Vietnam National University, Hanoi University of Technology, Foreign Trade University, Academy of Finance, Academy of Posts and Telecommunications, University of Industry.

Themed "Programming apps to learn Japanese”, Coding Inspiration 2014 was expected to create an intelligence playground to gather Vietnamese students into a community of potential bridge engineers.
