FPT Appoints Group Chief AI Transformation Officer, Reinforcing Commitment to Lead National Strategic Technology Development

FPT has officially announced the appointment of a Group Chief AI Transformation Officer (CAIXO) and introduced CASAN, an AI transformation framework designed for organizations and enterprises globally. The move aims to accelerate AI transformation initiatives for FPT’s partners, customers, and internal operations. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phong, AI expert and Chief Technology Officer of FPT, has been appointed as Group Chief AI Transformation Officer.

The appointment demonstrates FPT’s determination and readiness to accompany organizations and enterprises worldwide in strengthening global competitiveness through AI transformation.

Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phong will lead FPT’s AI Transformation Division and oversee key responsibilities aimed at creating breakthroughs across FPT’s strategic technology areas. Responsibilities include driving FPT technology strategies with AI at the center; researching and developing AI transformation methodologies, platforms and solutions for both internal use and customers; advancing core AI technologies; overseeing FPT AI products and platforms; and expanding international partnerships.

In addition, the division will serve as a strategic hub for developing AI talent, promoting AI initiatives and applications across the corporation, and contributing to bringing Vietnamese AI capabilities to the global stage.

FPT’s AI capabilities have been built over more than a decade through a comprehensive ecosystem spanning research, products, platforms, services and solutions, alongside talent development from primary education to doctoral programs.

The FPT.AI platform has surpassed 200 million monthly interactions, helping international partners reduce operating costs by up to 45%.

Speaking about the vision, Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation, emphasized that more than 30,000 FPT engineers have been upskilled in AI, driven by the aspiration to create meaningful impact for society, businesses and the broader economy through AI.

FPT’s transformation comes as the Vietnamese Government recently announced 10 strategic technology groups, with AI identified as one of the core technologies.

AI serves as a launchpad enabling pioneering enterprises such as FPT to leverage advantages in data infrastructure, high-quality AI talent, and products and solutions to support organizations and expand market opportunities. Through these efforts, FPT continues to reinforce a leadership role in strategic technologies and contribute to the national ambition of placing Vietnam among the top 50 AI nations by 2030.
