FPT University’s amazing impression in ACM/ICPC Vietnam 2009
The final result of ACM/ICPC Vietnam 2009 at Nha Trang University was announced. This year, with three out of ten excellent team representing Vietnam in the Asian contest ground, FPT University has impressed the organization board and attendees.

This is the second time FPT has participated in the ACM/ICPC Contest.

FU’s teams in ACM/ICPC Viet Nam 2009
There were five FU team attending this contest, three of which have participated for the second time and two are new players, including students of the forth course. The teams are selected based on the ACM contest organized monthly within the university.
During the competition, there are always four teams of FPT University standing in the Top 10.
Finally, in the name list of ten outstanding teams, FPT rank the first with 3 teams, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology with 2 teams and Technology College, Hanoi National University, Foreign Trade University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Sciences, Hanoi University of Technology, and Da Nang University of Technology with one team each.
Master Huynh Anh Dzung – FU team leader said: “During the contest, the students have taken the organization board and other teams by surprise as four out of five attending team always stood in the list of best performance. This is the first time a delegation from a freshly-established university has impressed and made other prestigious universities play and watch-out”..
Ten outstanding teams shall present in the Asian Ground in Thailand this November. The World Finals shall be organized in China in April 2010.
The Organization board shall support each representing team an amount of ten million VND attending the ACM/ICPC in Phuket (Thailand) on 4th November 2009.
For the first time participating the National Information Olympic and Asian ACM Contest in 2008, FPT students wrote their name in Top 12, which included 6 Vietnamese teams and six foreign ones.
ACM ICPC Vietnam (Association for Computing Machinery International Collegiate Programming Contest) is the very first ground of the worldwide ACM ICPC – the most prestigious competition for IT students around the world annually held and sponsored by IBM. This is an opportunity for students to show their ability as well as problem-solving and programming skills.
