FPT showcased its Smart Urban Construction Ecosystem grounded in data at Smart City Summit 2023

FPT Corporation showcased its "Enhancing life with Smart Cities" ecosystem at the Vietnam - Asia Smart City Summit (Smart City Summit 2023). Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Founding Council of VINASA and the Board of Directors of FPT, proposed elevating Hanoi to a technological hub for Vietnam and the region. The Smart City Summit 2023, themed "Data mining - Building smart urban toward sustainable development," was jointly organized by VINASA and the Hanoi People's Committee in Hanoi on November 29, 2023.

Attending the event was Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee; Mr. Ha Minh Hai, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi's People's Committee; Mr. Vu Chien Thang - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, and leaders of Hanoi People's Committee, ministries, and departments.

Addressing the conference, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of VINASA and FPT, expressed that it was the era of Vietnam and Hanoi to shine as critical players in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and semiconductor technologies. In pursuing this significant mission, the smart city model emerges as a crucial determinant. Hanoi's leadership extends to guiding other cities in areas such as green transformation, digital transformation, and the adoption of high-tech and core technologies, including AI and semiconductors.

"In order to realize this objective, Hanoi must advocate for a particular and exceptional mechanism to draw talent from Vietnam, across the globe, and the overseas Vietnamese community. Additionally, Hanoi should spearhead the training of human resources, aiming not just to establish its smart city model but also to cultivate the necessary hardware, software, and workforces for the advancement of global and regional cities. I am optimistic that Hanoi will foster opportunities for all IT companies in Vietnam and worldwide to thrive", affirmed Mr. Truong Gia Binh.

The Smart City Summit 2023 features extensive discussions on a critical aspect of digital transformation—data. Mr. Truong Gia Binh, along with experts from Viettel, VNPT, and various other businesses, emphasized the importance of delivering precise, comprehensive, clean, and real-time data to efficiently, transparently, and economically serve the needs of city officials and public services benefiting both individuals and businesses. This strategic approach aims to leverage digital transformation to enhance the quality of life for Hanoi citizens, allowing the city to shine as a symbol of the modern country.

FPT experts proposed schemes for smart city construction

During the discussion sessions at the Smart City Summit 2023, experts from FPT's subsidiaries put forward proposals regarding smart city construction. Mr. Phan Thanh Son, the Executive Vice President and Business Development Director of FPT Information System Company, presented initiatives under the theme "Smart and sustainable planning, construction, and operation grounded in data." According to Mr. Phan Thanh Son, given the ongoing urban and regional digital transformation alongside the establishment of a digital economy, FPT is dedicated to supporting the Government, businesses, and organizations in navigating this dual transformation journey in Vietnam. To effectively carry out this scheme, initiating the journey from the planning phase to progressing through construction and operations is required. It involves substantial investment in five key strategic capabilities: AI, Data, Identification, Communication, and Touch Points.

During the event, Mr. Nguyen Khuong Duy, the Deputy Director of the Infrastructure Services Development Center at FPT Smart Cloud, discussed the smart city development trend linked with cloud computing and elaborated on its advantages.

Mr. Phan Ho Ha Phuong, Head of the AI Solutions Department at FPT Smart Cloud, delivered a presentation on the topic: "Applying AI & virtual assistants in training & recruiting in the digital age." During his presentation, he highlighted: "Smart businesses will play a fundamental role in developing smart cities. Integrating AI solutions will enhance business management and operations, providing a positive experience for employees. Emerging technology adoptions, particularly AI, is crucial in constructing smart cities and ensuring sustainable development."

In the discourse on "Future Trends in Smart Homes," Mr. Le Trong Duc, Product Director at FPT Telecom, articulated that technology is seamlessly incorporated into smart home appliances, offering users convenience, comfort, and modernity. The ability to control a range of devices is facilitated through a smartphone or tablet. It is anticipated that smart homes will emerge as a prevailing future inclination.

Within the exhibition booth area of the event, FPT showcased the ecosystem titled "Enhancing Life with Smart Cities," comprising three distinct subdivisions: Smart Cities interconnecting heritage, Smart Life, and Artificial Intelligence. This ecosystem encompasses platforms, solutions, and products designed to elevate individuals' experiences, fostering a more contemporary and convenient lifestyle. Notably, FPT introduced an innovative urban model that integrates an ecosystem of Smart City solutions merged with virtual reality and augmented reality technologies catering to the domains of tourism, culture, and business.

Particularly in culture and tourism, FPT presents comprehensive solutions through akaVerse, featuring Virtual Tour Space and Digital Twin. Besides, the utilization of the 3D scanning solution aids in preserving images of ancient antiques and artifacts, contributing to establishing a national database on history and culture. These solutions find applications in virtual galleries and tours across the metaverse.

Collaborating in creating a smarter lifestyle, FPT puts forth endeavors to elevate the experience for each household. Initiatives include FPT Smart Home, allowing users to employ voice commands for automated and intelligent functions.
