Da Nang, October 13, 2026 – On the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee, led a city delegation on a working visit to FPT Corporation in Da Nang. During the visit, city leaders expressed expectations for FPT to further advance artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and the digital economy. FPT presented business performance in Da Nang and reaffirmed the commitment to supporting the city's technology ecosystem, contributing to the ambition of making Da Nang a leading technology hub in Central Vietnam, particularly in AI, semiconductors, and digital transformation.

Da Nang Prioritizes Strategic Technologies and Stronger Business Cooperation

During the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan acknowledged and highly appreciated FPT's efforts, innovative spirit, and commitment to Da Nang's development over more than two decades. He noted that FPT's contributions extend beyond revenue, tax payments, and software exports to include high-quality employment, international competitiveness, and corporate social responsibility initiatives, particularly Hope School.

As Da Nang enters a new stage of development, the city has identified science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as key growth drivers. City leaders expect FPT not only to expand business operations but also to play a greater role in strengthening industrial capabilities and improving the quality of economic growth, focusing on three priorities.

First, advancing research, development, and commercialization of high-value technologies. The city encouraged FPT to further leverage FPT Complex, research and development centers, and existing facilities to accelerate R&D and product commercialization, particularly in software, semiconductors, and AI. Da Nang expects FPT to bring more high-value-added projects and products to the city, connecting local development with global technology value chains.

Second, translating strategic cooperation into measurable outcomes. Cooperation programs between FPT and Da Nang should be translated into specific tasks, deliverables, timelines, and clearly assigned responsibilities. The city prioritizes solutions that improve public administration, streamline administrative procedures, and enhance services for citizens and businesses. The effectiveness of digital transformation should be reflected in tangible improvements in daily operations and people's lives.

Third, aligning education with industry needs and social responsibility. FPT was encouraged to continue connecting training programs with business requirements, enabling students to participate in real-world projects and master emerging technologies. The city also called for continued support for young talent and disadvantaged communities. According to city leaders, technological advancement must go hand in hand with human development and a strong commitment to society.

On the government side, city leaders called on departments, agencies, and local authorities to proactively coordinate with businesses, promptly address difficulties, and ensure that administrative processes remain transparent, accountable, and efficient.

These priorities provide a foundation for closer alignment between corporate technology capabilities and local development needs, helping enhance competitiveness, expand high-tech activities, and generate greater economic value for Da Nang.

FPT Reaffirms Commitment to Developing Da Nang's Technology Ecosystem

During the meeting, FPT representatives emphasized that the company's development in Da Nang has been closely linked to the city's support and cooperation over the years.

The recognition of FPT Complex as a centralized information technology park, the strategic cooperation program on AI and semiconductors, and the establishment of the High-Tech and Semiconductor R&D Center represent important milestones. These developments have enabled FPT to attract talent, strengthen technology capabilities, and expand operations in the city.

Since establishing a presence in Da Nang in 2005, FPT has spent more than 20 years developing an ecosystem spanning technology, telecommunications, education, retail, and urban development.

According to FPT's business report, FPT entities in Da Nang currently employ 9,450 people, generate more than VND 3.18 trillion in revenue, and contribute over VND 153 billion to the city's budget.

Within this ecosystem, FPT's overseas IT services business in Da Nang employs 6,573 people, delivering software services primarily to Japan and South Korea.

FPT Complex accounts for approximately 69% of Da Nang's software export turnover, providing a strong foundation for FPT to further expand the technology workforce and increase the value of technology services.

FPT representatives noted that the company is shifting resources from traditional software development toward new AI capabilities while expanding higher-value-added services.

Japan and South Korea remain key markets where FPT benefits from a skilled workforce, adaptability, and the ability to address complex technology challenges for customers.

Alongside AI, FPT has identified semiconductors as a long-term investment priority. FPT remains committed to expanding the engineering workforce and chip design capabilities, progressively contributing to the development of the semiconductor industry in Da Nang.

FPT also aims to work with the city on digital government and smart city solutions aligned with Da Nang's digital transformation objectives.

Investing in Technology and Developing Talent for Strategic Industries

FPT is strengthening research and development (R&D), AI, and semiconductor capabilities in Da Nang.

In March 2025, FPT inaugurated the High-Tech and Semiconductor R&D Center, covering nearly 3,000 square meters at Da Nang Software Park No. 2. The facility represents a concrete step in implementing the strategic technology cooperation program between FPT and the city.

In late 2025, FPT exported the first commercial batch of Low-Dropout (LDO) power management chips to Restar in Japan. FPT also partnered with South Korea's ABOV Semiconductor to develop a Motor Driver IC product line.

These milestones demonstrate progress in strengthening chip design capabilities, commercializing semiconductor products, and participating more deeply in global technology value chains.

Alongside technology investment, FPT's education ecosystem in Da Nang currently serves nearly 15,000 students, supported by 1,102 full-time faculty and staff members.

Training programs focus on AI, cybersecurity, software engineering, and semiconductor chip design, closely aligned with industry requirements.

Connections among educational institutions, R&D centers, and businesses enable students to participate in real-world projects, develop specialized skills, and prepare for careers in strategic technology industries.

Connecting Business Growth with Social Responsibility

Beyond business operations and technology investment, FPT places strong emphasis on corporate social responsibility, including Hope School, established in 2021 by FPT Corporation and Hope Foundation based on an initiative by Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation.

Since opening, Hope School has welcomed and cared for 400 children orphaned by the COVID-19 pandemic from 29 provinces and cities, including 100 students who have progressed to universities and colleges.

A new campus covering more than 6,500 square meters at FPT City was inaugurated in August 2025, further enhancing the learning, living, and personal development environment for the students.

Looking ahead, FPT plans to continue expanding software development, AI, and digital transformation services for international markets while strengthening semiconductor chip design capabilities in Da Nang.

FPT will also deepen cooperation with the city in digital government, smart city development, and high-quality workforce training.

By developing an integrated ecosystem encompassing technology, R&D, education, and innovation, FPT aims to contribute to Da Nang's ambition of becoming a leading technology hub in Central Vietnam, capable of developing and delivering high-value technology products and services for domestic and international markets.

This direction also reflects FPT's commitment to aligning investment and business development with the city's digital economy growth and sustainable development goals.
