During a visit and working session at the FPT Korea office on September 8, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung recognized FPT’s progress in South Korea and expressed expectations that FPT will continue learning from advanced technologies and R&D models while helping connect the Vietnamese technology business community in the market.
A Government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung visits and holds a working session at the FPT Korea office.The delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung, included Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology; Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; and Ms. Doan Phuong Lan, Consul General of Vietnam in Busan, along with representatives from the Government Office, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam’s diplomatic missions in South Korea, and relevant agencies.
Representing FPT Korea were Mr. Ha Minh Tuan, CEO of FPT Korea; Deputy CEOs Le Xuan Loc, Nguyen Manh The, and Pham Ngoc Son, along with representatives from business support and resource management functions.
During the meeting, FPT representatives briefed the delegation on FPT’s operations and development in the South Korean market. According to the report, FPT Korea currently generates approximately VND 2.6 trillion (equivalent to USD 100 million) in revenue and has become a technology partner to major South Korean corporations including LG, SK, and Hanwha, as well as many other enterprise customers.
FPT Korea currently has more than 300 employees working directly in South Korea, supported by approximately 3,000 employees in Vietnam dedicated to the South Korean market. Looking ahead, FPT Korea plans to expand collaboration into emerging technology areas such as AI, semiconductors, and drones, alongside traditional business areas.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung shared observations from the working visit to South Korea. The Deputy Prime Minister visited an SK data center and several research institutes, expressing strong impressions of South Korea’s level of technological development and approach to investment in research and development.

Following a period focused on market development and revenue growth, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed expectations that FPT will take the next step by learning from and applying advanced and core technologies gained through international operations, thereby creating greater value for Vietnam.
Research and development (R&D) was another area highlighted by the Deputy Prime Minister. Drawing on the research center models observed in South Korea, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed hope that FPT can learn from how these centers are structured and operated and explore how relevant practices can be applied in Vietnam.
The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed expectations for FPT to play a greater role in connecting Vietnamese technology companies operating in South Korea. Given FPT’s position and track record in the market, FPT is expected to help foster a more connected Vietnamese business community where companies can share opportunities and collectively expand their presence in South Korea.
The participation of representatives from CMC, VTI, NTQ, SotaTek, and LTS in the subsequent discussion also reflected the growing number of Vietnamese technology companies seeking opportunities to expand in the South Korean market.
The visit took place as FPT Korea marks 10 years of operations in South Korea. Having evolved from a market primarily focused on business development and delivery, FPT Korea is now expected to pursue a broader direction: strengthening technology learning, expanding R&D connections, and further developing FPT’s role as a bridge between the Vietnamese and South Korean technology ecosystems.
