Da Nang, September 5, 2026 – Hope School held a ceremony to welcome the 2026–2027 academic year, attended by Mr. Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam; Mr. Le Ngoc Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee; Mr. Le Quang Nam, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee; representatives of FPT Corporation’s leadership; along with teachers, staff and more than 300 students of Hope School.
The ceremony took place as Vietnam’s education sector entered the 2026–2027 academic year with a focus on delivering substantive improvements in teaching and learning quality, equitable access to education, and learners’ capabilities. In a letter to the education sector for the new academic year, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that every school should be a place where learners are respected and heard, encouraged to pursue self-directed learning and develop essential skills; where talent is identified and nurtured; and where students from disadvantaged backgrounds are not left behind.
Amid rapid advances in science, technology and artificial intelligence, General Secretary and President To Lam also stressed that technology must serve people and contribute to better education. The more schools embrace advanced technologies, the more they must foster independent thinking, responsibility, civic awareness and humanistic values among students.
Attending Hope School’s ceremony to welcome the 2026–2027 academic year, Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau shared words of encouragement with teachers and students and presented gifts to the children. During the event, Mr. Hoang Quoc Quyen, Director of Hope School, briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on the school’s educational direction for the new academic year. Students also performed musical and cultural performances and took part in a ceremony marking the beginning of a new journey of learning and personal growth.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau said he was “deeply moved” by the compassion and humanity that FPT Corporation, the school’s teachers and its supporters have shown to the students of Hope School. The school was initiated and founded by Mr. Truong Gia Binh to nurture and educate children who lost their parents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Deputy Prime Minister described Hope School as “a highly distinctive and exceptional model,” adding: “Within the Government’s capacity and the scope of our responsibilities, we are committed to providing attention, support and companionship whenever the school requires it.”
He also called on Da Nang’s leadership to continue supporting the school within its capacity to sustain a model that he described as “very rare, not only in Vietnam but also in many countries around the world.”

He praised the students for their efforts, confidence and positive participation in school activities, encouraging them to remain resilient, continue striving for progress and make meaningful contributions to Hope School, Da Nang and Vietnam.

In addition to the core curriculum, they participate in a wide range of supplementary programs designed to support their holistic development. These include the Smart World Experience (SMART) program, which integrates science, technology, engineering and mathematics while introducing students to programming, robotics and AI.
The Personal Development Program (PDP) helps students strengthen essential capabilities such as teamwork, communication, critical thinking and problem-solving. Students also participate in a wide range of life-skills and experiential activities, including music, fine arts, creative writing, comic illustration, debate, foreign languages and sports, as well as survival skills, first aid, emotional management and time management. They regularly take part in hands-on activities such as baking, sewing, candle and soap making, gardening, plant care, designing recycled products and outdoor activities. Through these experiences, students develop greater independence, collaboration and problem-solving skills while learning and growing through real-world experiences.
Over the past five years, 70 Hope School students have graduated from high school, 66 of whom have continued their education at universities and colleges. In the 2024–2025 academic year alone, Hope School students earned more than 20 individual awards in academic competitions, along with achievements in STEM, robotics, creative science, debate, arts and sports. All Grade 12 students successfully graduated from high school.
Mr. Hoang Quoc Quyen, Director of Hope School, said the school’s five-year journey has been built on a belief in kindness and compassion between people. From the early days when teachers traveled across provinces and cities to find children who had lost loved ones to COVID-19, to building the school and welcoming, caring for and educating more than 300 students, he said the most important goal has always been to create an environment where the children can grow up surrounded by love and kindness.

“A schoolbag carries more than books and lessons; it also carries our dreams and the opportunity to change our own lives. As we begin the new academic year, my friends and I are determined to study hard, build strong character and become better versions of ourselves every day, so that the care, trust and love we have received will become part of what we carry with us into the future,” Huynh Quang Minh said.
