During the official visit to the French Republic by General Secretary and President To Lam, FPT joined businesses from both countries in exploring opportunities to elevate cooperation in science and technology, artificial intelligence, and innovation, with the goal of addressing major development challenges and creating long-term value for both markets.
On the evening of September 10 (local time) in Paris, General Secretary and President To Lam and French President Emmanuel Macron met with leaders of several major French and Vietnamese corporations and businesses. Representing FPT at the event were Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, and Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Executive Vice President of FPT and CEO of FPT Software.
The meeting opened discussions on a new phase of cooperation between the Vietnamese and French business communities, with a focus on moving beyond traditional trade toward co-investment, technology partnerships, and joint participation in value chains serving ASEAN, the European Union, and global markets.
Speaking at the event, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized the need to establish a new level of economic cooperation between the two countries – one that is more substantive and balanced, incorporates greater technological value, and delivers tangible benefits for businesses and people in both countries.
Three major shifts were highlighted: from trade in goods to joint investment and production; from supplier-customer relationships to technology partnerships involving technology transfer, talent development, research and development, and innovation; and from bilateral cooperation to jointly building value chains serving ASEAN, the EU, and global markets.
Among the strategic areas of cooperation, science and technology, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, semiconductors, and innovation were identified as key priorities, alongside strategic infrastructure and energy transition; aerospace and high-tech transportation; healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and high-quality talent development.
FPT Ready to Work with French Partners to Address Major Challenges Through Technology
At the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, shared that Vietnam is entering a new stage of development, with science, technology, and innovation identified as important drivers of growth. The country’s major development challenges are creating opportunities for Vietnamese technology companies and international partners to jointly implement projects with significant scale and impact.
“The challenges have been identified, and major Vietnamese companies, including FPT, are ready to take them on,” Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, said, adding that FPT is working with several leading French corporations with a shared commitment to creating value together.
As Vietnam–France economic relations evolve from traditional trade toward deeper technology cooperation, FPT expects businesses from both countries to leverage complementary strengths and jointly develop new growth engines powered by technology and innovation.
With experience in AI, software, digital technologies, and technology talent development, FPT is ready to work alongside French organizations and businesses on large-scale transformation programs, spanning research and technology development through to the real-world deployment of solutions.
FPT also aims to expand long-term cooperation models that not only serve the Vietnamese and French markets but also create new products, solutions, and value for international markets.
Through a growing presence and deeper partnerships in France, FPT continues to strengthen the role as a technology bridge between Vietnam and France, while contributing to efforts to make science and technology, AI, and innovation new pillars of cooperation between the two countries.
