On August 25, FPT Corporation broke ground on the FPT Education Complex in Dien Bien Province. It will be the first education complex in Vietnam’s Northwest region to offer a full range of programs from K–12 education to college, university and postgraduate levels, with a focus on developing technology talent to support the growth of the province and the wider region.
Located in Dien Bien Phu Ward, Dien Bien Province, the FPT Education Complex will have a construction footprint of more than 2.1 hectares within a total site area of approximately 10.5 hectares, equivalent to a building coverage ratio of over 20%. Key facilities will include an administration and lecture hall building, dormitories and supporting facilities. Phase 1 of the Complex is expected to become operational in the first quarter of 2028.

At the K–12 level, the curriculum will continue to combine general education with experiential learning while equipping students with digital skills, technological thinking and foreign-language proficiency.
The education strategy has been developed based on FPT’s strengths and experience, as well as the province’s socioeconomic development needs. With an economy built around agriculture, forestry, tourism and services, Dien Bien aims to accelerate digital transformation. The province has worked with businesses, including FPT, to pilot the application of unmanned aerial vehicles in economic development and implement several technology projects. These initiatives are creating growing demand for a workforce equipped with relevant technological expertise and skills.
The development of the FPT Education Complex comes as Dien Bien actively mobilizes social resources for education development in line with Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025, of the Politburo. The Resolution identifies non-public education as an important component of the national education system, working alongside the State to mobilize social resources for the comprehensive modernization of education, diversify education and training models, and expand participation from the non-public sector.
The participation of organizations and businesses is expected to bring additional investment into education, diversify learning environments and choices, and better meet the needs of learners across the province. Meanwhile, the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation sets out directions for accelerating technology adoption and developing human resources in science, technology and digital transformation to meet emerging development needs.
Against this backdrop, the FPT Education Complex is expected to provide more opportunities for students to pursue education locally while contributing to the development of human resources needed for Dien Bien’s economic restructuring and technology adoption.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Le Van Luong, Deputy Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial People’s Committee, said the province is entering a new stage of development, with priorities including modernizing its economic structure, building a digital economy and a learning society, and developing high-quality human resources. Attracting education projects—particularly large-scale projects involving the non-public sector—and effectively promoting education socialization are among the important solutions to expanding learning opportunities and developing local talent to meet the province’s future development needs.

Together with the education complex in Hai Phong, which FPT broke ground on in March this year, and FPT’s existing schools, colleges, universities and postgraduate programs in Hanoi, the new Complex will further expand FPT’s education network across Vietnam, strengthening connections between education institutions and the specific workforce needs of different regions.
The Complex will be located on historic land where the Dien Bien Phu Victory—described as having “resounded across five continents and shaken the globe”—took place more than 70 years ago. Dien Bien is also a center of Vietnam’s Northwest region and home to diverse ethnic communities with rich cultural traditions. These historical, geographical and cultural characteristics are reflected prominently throughout the architectural concept of the project.
Architectural rendering of the FPT Education Complex in Dien Bien.Inspired by the Muong Thanh Field, the Complex embraces green architecture, with academic buildings interwoven with landscaped spaces and a central square serving as the heart of connectivity. The design places people and educational activities at its core, prioritizing open spaces where students can study, interact and participate in extracurricular activities.
The imagery of the fields also serves as a metaphor for education: from the “seeds” of knowledge that are planted, learners are given an environment in which to develop their capabilities and nurture a spirit of exploration in science and technology.
In Dien Bien, the Complex is expected to contribute to developing a workforce equipped with digital, technological and foreign-language skills to support the province’s digital transformation and emerging economic sectors. It will provide students with greater opportunities to learn and gain experience in a technology-enabled educational environment, gradually building a talent pipeline that can contribute to socioeconomic development in Dien Bien and across Vietnam’s Northwest region.
