With support from the FPT For the Community Fund, the first Hope Bridge in Vinh Long Province has been inaugurated and opened to traffic, providing safer and more convenient travel for local residents and students.

Hope Bridge No. 450, located in Hoa Phu Hamlet, An Binh Commune, is the first bridge jointly developed by FPT and the Hope Foundation in Vinh Long Province.

Measuring 27 meters in length and 3.5 meters in width, the bridge was constructed at a total cost of nearly VND 400 million. Of this amount, VND 150 million was contributed by the FPT For the Community Fund, supported through FPT employees' annual "One Day's Salary" donation campaign. The remaining funding came from local contributions, along with volunteer labor provided by Youth Union members and local residents.

Before the new bridge was built, traveling through the area was particularly challenging, especially during the rainy season. The old, narrow and deteriorating bridge not only disrupted residents' daily activities but also made it difficult to transport agricultural products and posed safety risks to students traveling to school.

Mr. Ho Van Kien, Secretary of the Party Committee of An Binh Commune, emphasized the significance of Hope Bridge No. 450 in improving rural transportation connectivity. The new, sturdy and safe bridge contributes to the development of rural infrastructure under the new-style rural development program, while facilitating the transportation and circulation of goods and agricultural products.

"In particular, as there is a school along the road through Hoa Phu Hamlet, Hope Bridge No. 450 will help students travel more safely and give parents greater peace of mind," Mr. Kien shared. He also expressed his gratitude to FPT and the Hope Foundation for their meaningful support for the local community.

On the same day, FPT and the Hope Foundation also broke ground on five new bridges in Tay Ninh Province, including Hope Bridge No. 474 in Nhon Hoa Lap Commune and Hope Bridges No. 475, 476, 477 and 478 in Tan Thanh Commune.

The five bridges range from 21 to 31 meters in length, each measuring 3.5 meters in width, with a combined construction cost of approximately VND 3.4 billion. The FPT For the Community Fund contributed VND 550 million, while the remaining funding was mobilized through local authorities and other social resources.

The Hope Bridge initiative aims to replace aging and deteriorating wooden and steel bridges with durable reinforced concrete structures. Priority is given to areas with high transportation demand, locations near schools, and communities where bridge construction aligns with rural transportation development plans.

Since the first bridges were launched in 2018, the initiative has expanded to numerous provinces and cities across Vietnam, with more than 470 bridges under the program. These projects have helped improve rural transportation infrastructure, enabling local residents and students to travel more safely and conveniently.
