FPT Corporation recently participated in two major technology and industrial events: the Vietnam International High-Tech and Digital Economy Fair 2026 (HI-TECH VIETNAM 2026), held from September 9–11, and the 10th FBC ASEAN 2026 International Manufacturing Business Matching Exhibition, held from September 16–18. At the events, FPT showcased technology capabilities in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) while promoting connections among technology companies, supporting industries, research institutes, universities, and partners involved in building Vietnam’s UAV ecosystem. These efforts contribute to advancing the objectives of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

At the exhibition areas of both events, FPT showcased two UAV models, the Guardian Urban U10 and Guardian Cargo C320. FPT uses these UAV platforms to test, integrate, and evaluate technologies researched and developed by FPT. The results provide a foundation for FPT to further refine technologies, define technical requirements, and develop solutions tailored to specific applications.

During FBC ASEAN 2026, the Vietnam Association for Supporting Industries (VASI), the Vietnam Low Altitude Economy Partnership (LAEP), and the Vietnam Aerospace and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Network (AUVS VN) signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop Vietnam’s UAV value chain, industrial ecosystem, and technology ecosystem.

Under the agreement, the three parties will work together to develop a UAV value chain in Vietnam and strengthen the manufacturing capabilities of domestic companies, gradually building an ecosystem spanning component, material, module, and industrial solution suppliers through to research, manufacturing, product completion, and commercial deployment.

The parties also aim to strengthen connections among suppliers, manufacturers, and end users while increasing localization rates and enhancing the capabilities of Vietnamese companies. Specifically, VASI will leverage a network of supporting-industry companies in areas such as precision engineering, electrical and electronic components, materials, molds, and components. LAEP and AUVS VN will connect technology companies, UAV manufacturers, experts, research organizations, and other ecosystem partners.

The three parties also plan to jointly organize B2B activities, testing and product demonstrations, trade promotion, and market development initiatives.

Also at FBC ASEAN 2026, Mr. Vu Anh Tu, CEO of FPT UAV, FPT Corporation, shared his perspective on “The Low-Altitude Economy and Opportunities for Vietnam’s Supporting Industries.”

According to Mr. Tu, the development of UAVs is creating a broad value chain in which the aircraft itself is only one component. A functioning UAV system requires a wide range of technologies and products, from motors, propellers, materials, chips, and electronic circuit boards to telecommunications networks, navigation systems, software, takeoff and landing infrastructure, and flight operations management systems. These are also areas where Vietnamese supporting-industry companies have opportunities to participate.

Mr. Tu noted that Vietnam has built a significant supporting-industry foundation after years of participating in the supply chains of global technology corporations. Developing the UAV industry could therefore create new markets for existing manufacturing capabilities while enabling Vietnamese companies to participate in higher-value segments of the value chain.

“For FPT, a UAV is not a standalone device. We aim to build systems and solutions that use UAVs to address challenges in agriculture, infrastructure, urban monitoring, and smart cities,” Mr. Vu Anh Tu shared.

With this approach, FPT is leveraging capabilities in AI, software, data, and systems integration, while working with manufacturers, telecommunications and infrastructure companies, research institutes, and universities to develop other components of the ecosystem.

FPT has been conducting research, testing, and collaborative initiatives to build capabilities in the UAV sector. In April 2026, FPT worked with Dien Bien Province and Truong Thinh Drone to test UAVs for foliar fertilizer spraying on coffee plantations in Muong Ang. Initial results showed that UAVs could increase the productivity of foliar fertilizer spraying from approximately one hectare per day to 5–15 hectares per day, opening up opportunities for agricultural applications in mountainous areas.

FPT is also expanding international cooperation in the UAV sector. Recently, FPT Corporation and South Korea’s NARMA Inc. announced a partnership to research, develop, and commercialize next-generation UAVs, initially focusing on AI, autonomous flight software, AI-powered operating systems, and obstacle detection and avoidance technologies. The two companies are also exploring opportunities to expand supply chains, localize components, and collaborate on manufacturing in Vietnam and South Korea.
