FPT Corporation has announced FPT Frontier Innovators, a research program in strategic technology fields that offers final-year students, recent graduates, and experienced researchers opportunities to pursue advanced research in an enterprise environment and connect with scientists, experts, and research networks in Vietnam and around the world.
FPT Frontier Innovators was developed by FPT Corporation to contribute to the objectives of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. The resolution emphasizes developing and attracting high-quality talent and gradually building capabilities to master strategic technologies.
The program will be implemented at the Quantum AI & Cyber Security Institute (QACI), focusing on three research areas: AI, quantum computing, and cybersecurity. Through FPT Frontier Innovators, FPT aims to build a research workforce capable of tackling complex technological challenges, generating new knowledge, and gradually translating research outcomes into practical applications.
A key focus of FPT Frontier Innovators is enabling researchers to pursue in-depth research challenges within a long-term research environment. Participants will have access to high-performance GPU infrastructure and advanced AI tools to support experimentation, model training, and research projects requiring substantial computing resources.
Each researcher will have opportunities to work directly with scientists and mentors while connecting with international research networks. The program also offers opportunities for research exchanges and short-term research placements at Mila – Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute and partner research organizations in Japan, the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, and other locations.
FPT Frontier Innovators also supports researchers in publishing scientific papers and attending international A/A* conferences, while providing guidance on academic development pathways for those wishing to pursue doctoral studies.
Beyond research resources, participants will gain access to FPT’s technology ecosystem and real-world challenges arising from business operations, products, services, and broader societal needs. These practical challenges can inspire new research directions, while research outcomes can be validated and gradually translated into applications.
FPT Frontier Innovators is recruiting for two researcher positions.
The Talent Researcher position is open to final-year students and recent bachelor’s or master’s graduates in mathematics and STEM disciplines who have a strong foundation in mathematics, machine learning, and programming, along with a passion for scientific research.
For the Middle Researcher position, FPT is seeking candidates with at least two years of relevant research experience, a strong foundation in mathematics, machine learning, and programming, and a track record of scientific publications.
FPT Frontier Innovators focuses on research areas with the potential to shape future generations of technology.
In AI, the program focuses on developing next-generation AI systems capable of perception, reasoning, planning, and action in both digital environments and the physical world. Key research directions include Agentic AI, Physical AI, and AI for Science & Enterprise.
In quantum computing, research will focus on next-generation computational models and algorithms with the potential to fundamentally transform how highly complex problems are solved.
In cybersecurity, the program aims to address challenges in protecting systems, data, and digital environments as AI and digital infrastructure continue to advance.
FPT’s previous talent development programs have attracted more than 2,000 applicants, enabling young researchers to pursue advanced AI research and contribute research papers to more than 130 A/A* conferences worldwide. Many alumni have continued their research and academic careers at leading universities, including UCLA, Stanford University, and Virginia Tech.
Notably, the partnership between FPT and Mila – Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute, one of the world’s leading AI research centers, was established during this period. Building on this foundation, FPT continues to expand international research partnerships and connect Vietnamese talent with the global technology community.
Through FPT Frontier Innovators, researchers will gain access to FPT’s technology ecosystem, where challenges span business operations, products, services, and issues affecting society at large. This model creates a two-way connection: research generates new knowledge and technologies for practical application, while real-world needs give rise to new research challenges. FPT is also advancing this approach through partnerships with international research institutes and universities.
