VNU-UET becomes the winner of Digital Race Season 2

UET Fastest from University of Engineering and Technology - Vietnam National University, Hanoi beat Winwin Spiral from FPT University to become the winner of 2017-2018 Digital Race.

The Digital Race final took place on May 17th with the participation of 8 teams from 6 universities. Over 1,000 people joined the event.

The winner will receive a total prize value of VND450 million, including a trip to experience new technologies in Japan within one week and be recruited by FPT Software.

Digital Race 2017 – 2018 took place from October 2017 to May 2018. This is a self – driving car programming contest for all students from IT universities. The difficulty of the topic this year is considered higher than previous years. The teams will apply the knowledge in programming, images processing, artificial intelligence (AI) to design the cars that can move with the highest speed in the complexity road, determine and avoid obstacles, identify and go by following the guidance of that automatically changes through each turn.

Digital Race 2017 – 2018 is held in 3 locations: Hanoi, Danang, Ho Chi Minh city with the total prizes value over VND 4 billion. The winner will receive a total prize value of VND450 million, including a trip to experience about new technology in Japan within a week and be directly recruited by FPT Software based on their desired department.

Already today, 90 percent of the innovation in automotive technology is associated to electronics and software, this segment will make the most dramatic change in Industry 4.0. Following that trend, Vietnam is not only a source of young manpower for Industry 4.0 but also will become the center of the global automotive software industry. In the first 2 years, FPT has up to 2000 engineers. In 2018, FPT needs to recruit about 1000 more people to work on automotive projects in 2018. Participating in the Digital Race, students not only learn new technology knowledge but also have the opportunity to join the automotive software industry.
