FPT Play and TikTok will collaborate to develop a new generation of professional sports content creators, opening up new ways to promote and bring high-quality sports content to audiences across Vietnam.

Since FPT Television Company Limited (FPT Play) and TikTok established a strategic partnership in 2022, FPT Play content on TikTok has generated a total of 5 billion views, an increase of nearly 18.5 times, across more than 30 channels with 8 million followers. Sports livestreams have also reached a record 1.4 million concurrent viewers (CCU).

Data announced at TikTok Creator Summit Vietnam 2026 further reflects a broader shift in audience behavior: videos featuring similar in-depth content generated 171 times more total watch time and grew follower communities 40 times faster than conventional content.

Content consumption is increasingly shifting from highlights and reaction videos toward more specialized formats such as match analysis, behind-the-scenes stories, and in-depth interviews. Audiences are no longer interested only in quick, purely entertaining content, but are increasingly engaging with creators who bring strong subject-matter expertise and invest seriously in content production.

Against this backdrop of rapid change in Vietnam’s digital content market, on September 9, FPT Play and TikTok officially signed a cooperation agreement to develop a new generation of professional sports content creators. Under the agreement, the two companies will move beyond shaping content trends to identifying and training promising creators while equipping them with the tools needed to comprehensively improve content quality and storytelling.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ms. To Nam Phuong, Deputy CEO of FPT Play, FPT Telecom, said: “FPT Play is currently at the forefront in securing broadcasting rights to many leading domestic and international sporting competitions across multiple disciplines, particularly football. We believe that a new generation of creators, equipped with in-depth sports knowledge, diverse and engaging content creation styles, and strong support from TikTok, can build an exciting network of sports media channels that reach audiences directly and quickly.

We expect this partnership to leverage the strengths of both sides to develop a professional and inspiring generation of ‘sports creators,’ bringing fans even closer to the competitions available on FPT Play.”

Under the cooperation agreement, FPT Play and TikTok plan to launch programs to identify and train professional sports content creators as early as October 2026, beginning with two major competitions: the 2026/27 Premier League and LPBank V.League 1 2026/27.

Through formats including livestreams, short-form videos, reactions, and podcasts, these sports creators will accompany fans throughout the seasons, helping spread positive and distinctive content across the TikTok community.

Mr. Angga Anugrah Putra, General Manager of Content Operations, TikTok Southeast Asia, representing TikTok Vietnam, said: “TikTok has long been more than a platform for entertainment and lifestyle content. Sports is also one of the key areas TikTok is focused on developing because we clearly see the power of sports to connect communities, spark conversations, and create highly shareable content.

“When we talk about sports, we are not only talking about matches. We are talking about the stories behind them, the athletes, the fans, memorable moments, and the ways younger generations today experience and engage with sports. This is why we believe developing a generation of professional sports content creators is so important.

“In this direction, sports creators will serve as an essential bridge connecting competitions, brands, and fans. The pioneering strategic partnership between TikTok and FPT Play will create more opportunities for emerging content creators to become professionals and work together to produce compelling content that reaches a broad range of audiences.”

The new phase of cooperation between FPT Play and TikTok will begin with Creator League, a competition expected to be announced in October 2026 on FPT Play’s official fanpage. The competition will identify and train promising football content creators from across Vietnam, helping bring the experience of “Living Every Moment of the Premier League Season” to a wider audience.

FPT Play currently provides more than 15,000 hours of content and nearly 120 domestic and international television channels, with selected content available in up to 4K resolution and Dolby Atmos multidimensional audio.

FPT Play is also the only provider in Vietnam holding the broadcasting rights to the Premier League from 2026 through the end of the 2030/31 season. The company also holds rights to the Vietnamese National Football Championship (LPBank V.League 1), National First Division (V.League 2), and National Cup for five consecutive seasons from 2023 to 2027, as well as the recently added ASEAN Cup 2026.

FPT Play also holds exclusive rights to major combat sports competitions, including UFC and Zuffa Boxing; basketball competitions including the NBA for six consecutive seasons from 2022/23 through 2027/28, VBA for five consecutive seasons from 2026 to 2030, and VBF basketball competitions from 2026 to 2028; as well as the Pickleball World Cup 2026, which features multiple Guinness World Records, and pickleball tournaments under the PPA Tour Asia.

Building on the resources and capabilities of both companies, the partnership between FPT Play and TikTok is expected to drive significant change in Vietnam’s digital entertainment market while redefining how sports fans discover, consume, and engage with sports content across FPT Play and TikTok.
