At Vietnam Digital Finance 2026, a forum on digital transformation and technology adoption in the Finance sector, FPT proposed an initiative to move AI beyond isolated pilots and into real-world operations, built on trusted data, fit-for-purpose infrastructure, and controllable governance mechanisms. FPT also showcased AI, automation, and digital infrastructure solutions for public finance.

At the event, representatives of FPT Corporation delivered presentations and participated in panel discussions. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh, CEO of FPT IS, FPT Corporation, presented “From AI Maturity to Action – An AI-First Roadmap for the Finance Sector Through 2030,” while Mr. Duong Tat Toan, Chief Technology Officer of the Government Sector at FPT IS, FPT Corporation, joined a panel discussion on technology applications in digital finance. Both sessions reflected FPT’s approach: AI should address specific operational challenges and be deployed on an appropriate foundation of data, infrastructure, and governance.

Alongside the conference sessions, FPT showcased a portfolio of solutions designed to help build an intelligent digital finance ecosystem powered by data and AI. These included solutions for developing financial databases and an Intelligent Operations Center (IOC) to support governance, operations, analytics, and forecasting; AI Agent and process automation solutions; as well as data infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data storage, and backup solutions.

Data and Governance Determine How Far AI Can Go

According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh, if data is considered a resource that drives economic growth, AI is emerging as a new member of the workforce, working alongside people in production and operations. Vietnam has introduced a National Strategy on Artificial Intelligence, while the Ministry of Finance has set an AI-First direction through 2030. In the future, operations will increasingly rely on Data Governance and AI Governance to control how AI Agents access and use data and participate in decision-making processes.

Drawing on the OECD framework for trustworthy AI and UNESCO’s AI maturity framework, FPT identified four common characteristics among leading countries: institutions and governance precede tools; algorithms are transparent; shared infrastructure is developed with sovereignty requirements in mind; and AI outcomes are measured through quantifiable results. For the Finance sector, FPT’s preliminary assessment indicates that foundations in strategy, operations, and data have already been established, while AI governance, ethics, and risk management require further development.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh, FPT Corporation, presents “From AI Maturity to Action – An AI-First Roadmap for the Finance Sector Through 2030.”

FPT proposed a three-phase roadmap. From 2026 to 2027, the focus would be on establishing foundations for compliance, data, and AI experimentation while gradually integrating AI into core operations. From 2028 to 2029, AI would be standardized and scaled across the sector. By 2030, the goal would be controlled AI operations at sector-wide scale. This journey requires three key conditions: AI-ready data, appropriate talent and resources, and AI procurement mechanisms that meet implementation requirements.

FPT identified four areas in which FPT can support the Finance sector: ensuring sovereignty and sustainability in AI investment; developing a ministry-level AI governance framework; integrating AI into core operations; and promoting public-private collaboration and the “three stakeholders” model under Decree No. 180/2025/ND-CP. With more than 30 years of experience supporting the Finance sector in digital transformation, FPT remains committed to advancing the sector’s AI transformation while ensuring control, transparency, and practical effectiveness.

During an afternoon thematic session, Mr. Duong Tat Toan, Chief Technology Officer of the Government Sector at FPT IS, FPT Corporation, joined the panel discussion “Developing the Financial Services Ecosystem in the AI Era.” The FPT expert shared perspectives on how AI and data are transforming the way financial and banking institutions understand and serve customers, as well as key challenges that need to be addressed to enable service personalization at scale.

AI Addresses Specific Challenges in Finance

At the exhibition, FPT presented an ecosystem of solutions under the theme “Building an Intelligent Digital Finance Ecosystem Powered by Data and AI,” with a focus on applications supporting governance and operations across the Finance sector.

At the core is the National Financial Database, designed to consolidate and synchronize sector-wide data in real time, ensuring that data is accurate, complete, clean, continuously updated, and connected with the National Data Center.

In addition, the Intelligent Operations Center (IOC) uses visual dashboards, Machine Learning, and AI to visualize, analyze, and forecast data for managing state budget revenues and expenditures and assessing enterprise health. An intelligent search and interpretation assistant enables users to query financial data directly using natural language.

FPT also introduced akaBot, an intelligent automation ecosystem developed by FPT and currently deployed across more than 4,500 enterprises worldwide. The solution automates manual tasks, optimizes operations, reduces processing costs and time by up to 80%, and minimizes the risk of data errors, moving toward autonomous enterprises powered by Agentic AI. A virtual assistant for legal document search also supports citizens, businesses, and public officials in finding public services, legal documents, provisions, and policies through natural-language queries.

FPT AI Agents EOS – Enterprise Agent Operating System (EOS) provides an operating environment where people and AI Agents work together on a unified governance and control platform. Currently, 10,220 AI Agents are in operation, serving eight million end customers and processing 40 million requests across sectors including finance and banking, insurance, securities, and the public sector.

These applications run on an infrastructure ecosystem comprising private cloud, storage, data centers, backup and disaster recovery, and cybersecurity solutions to provide the computing capacity, operational continuity, and data protection required when AI is deployed at scale.

Alongside AI applications, FPT showcased FPT Fornix Private Cloud, the Fornix Data Center system, and cybersecurity, storage, and data backup solutions. FPT Fornix Private Cloud is designed to meet data security and sovereignty requirements. The Cybersecurity Center of FPT Telecom International provides 24/7 monitoring, threat detection, and incident response services.

According to FPT, the Finance sector already has access to a wide range of technologies and AI use cases ready for implementation. The more complex challenge is ensuring that data is sufficiently reliable for AI to work with, while establishing clear governance mechanisms that define where AI can participate, who is accountable, and how outcomes are controlled.

These are essential conditions for moving AI from experimentation into real-world operations in public finance. As FPT continues to support the Finance sector, FPT remains committed to helping build an intelligent digital finance ecosystem powered by AI and data, aligned with the AI-First direction.
