On August 19, a large number of FPT University students, staff, and lecturers gathered at Reunification Hall – Independence Palace for the opening ceremony of the “Return to the Sacred Moment” program. The event offered a unique experience, using virtual reality (VR), AI, and 3D graphics to recreate one of the most sacred milestones in Vietnam’s history.
As part of the “Return to the Sacred Moment” program, FPT University students had the opportunity to step into a historical setting recreated through 360-degree VR and 3D graphics, taking them back to Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence.
Through VR headsets, students could witness this historic moment and experience the solemn and emotional atmosphere shared by tens of thousands of Vietnamese people on that momentous day. A milestone once known primarily through textbooks and archival images was brought vividly to life, making history feel more immediate and accessible than ever before.
FPT University’s distinctive identity was also showcased at the opening ceremony through two performances featuring traditional Vietnamese musical instruments and Vovinam. Both are signature components of the FPT University student experience, enabling students to explore and appreciate Vietnamese culture through music and martial arts.
From the sounds of traditional instruments to the powerful and precise movements of Vovinam, FPT University students brought what they have learned and practiced onto the stage, adding a distinctive cultural dimension to the event. It was a memorable experience in which students not only explored Vietnam’s cultural and historical values but also actively helped share and celebrate them through their own youthful energy.
This also reflects the educational spirit that FPT University continues to foster: ensuring that every experience not only broadens students’ knowledge but also deepens their pride in Vietnamese values, strengthens their understanding of where they come from, and gives them the confidence to move forward on their journey of global integration.
