At 4:10 PM on July 31, 2025, Mr. Hoang Nam Tien - Founding Member of FPT Corporation, Vice Chairman of the Board of FPT University, former Chairman of FPT Telecom JSC, and former Chairman of FPT Software Co., Ltd. - passed away due to stroke at the age of 57.

Biography of Mr. Hoang Nam Tien
Year of Birth: 1969
In April 2023, Mr. Hoang Nam Tien was appointed Vice Chairman of the Board of FPT University.
He joined FPT Corporation in 1993 after graduating from Hanoi University of Science and Technology with a degree in Computer Science. Known for his creative thinking and deep expertise in management, Mr. Tien played a significant role in various business areas at FPT Corporation. Throughout his career, he earned the trust of FPT’s leadership and was entrusted with many key positions.
In 2012, he was appointed Chairman of FPT Software Co., Ltd. With the drive and determination of a true “commander,” he helped the company maintain annual growth rates of over 30% for many consecutive years, establishing FPT Software among the Top 500 global software companies and Top 100 IT service providers worldwide.
Earlier, as CEO of FPT Distribution Co., Ltd., he played an important role in helping FPT achieve its strategic milestone of USD 1 billion in revenue by 2008.
Professional Journey
Mr. Tien was named among the Top 100 Outstanding Vietnamese Intellectuals in Economics in 2012 and received a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Information and Communications in 2016.
