Against the backdrop of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, which identifies science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as key drivers of national development, the Au Lac Grand Prize contributes to advancing these priorities by identifying, recognizing, and promoting AI solutions developed and mastered by Vietnamese innovators.

The Au Lac Grand Prize was initiated by the Au Lac AI Alliance, with FPT Corporation as a sponsor and the Government Electronic Information Portal and VnExpress serving as media sponsors. The judging panel brings together leading AI experts, scientists, technology business leaders, investment funds, universities, and representatives of innovation communities in Vietnam and abroad, helping ensure independence, objectivity, and global standards throughout the evaluation process.

The inaugural Au Lac Grand Prize attracted more than 400 entries from research teams, engineers, startups, and technology companies. The AI solutions address a wide range of challenges in everyday life and Vietnam’s socioeconomic activities, including flood forecasting and safe route planning; medical image analysis for doctors; legal and financial support for individuals and businesses; factory automation; optimization of infrastructure, energy, and logistics operations; and acceleration of scientific research.

Many of the submitted solutions have already achieved notable milestones, including winning major awards at domestic and international innovation competitions and national startup contests, filing patent applications that have been published, being adopted by government agencies, or securing investment to further develop their technologies.

Based on the Prize’s five evaluation criteria — socioeconomic impact; innovation and technological mastery; sustainability; scalability; and ethics and responsibility in AI development — 15 solutions have been selected to advance to presentations and direct discussions with the Preliminary Judging Panel. All 15 solutions were developed by Vietnamese innovators to address challenges in Vietnam and have already undergone real-world testing or deployment.

Mr. Le Hong Viet, CEO of FPT Smart Cloud, FPT Corporation, a member of the Au Lac AI Alliance and representative of the Prize Organizing Committee, said: “More than 400 entries in the inaugural season demonstrate strong interest among researchers, engineers, startups, and technology companies in developing and applying AI in Vietnam. The submissions also reflect diverse approaches and a broad range of challenges that AI can address across research, manufacturing, business, and everyday life. The Au Lac Grand Prize aims to create further momentum for development teams to enhance the quality of their solutions, progressively master core technologies, and deliver tangible value to users, organizations, and society.”

During the preliminary round, teams will present their solutions and engage directly with the Preliminary Judging Panel and authorized AI experts. The panel will select solutions to advance to the final round, scheduled for November 2026. The winning solution is expected to be announced and awarded in December 2026.
