100 FPT scholarships to schoolchildren Dioxin victims of Quang Tri province
Quang Tri, 30th October 2009- This morning, in the meeting hall of the Department of Labour, Invalid and Social Affairs of Quang Tri province, FPT Corporation granted 49 out of 100 scholarships directly to schoolchildren, who suffer from Dioxin toxic agent in the province.

Due to remote distance and transportation difficulties, the rest 51 scholarships were handed over to the Department to send to other cases in later time.
The FPT’s 100 scholarships, which worth 1.200.000 VND each, for dioxin child victims in the area of Quang Tri province is to encourage them to overcome hardship and continue to learn or be vocationally trained for their community integration.
The majority of scholarship receivers are suffered from physical or sense weaknesses or slight mental inability due to Dioxin toxic agent, who are pursuing their study in normal schools or vocational centers. Their families bear not only the pain named “Agent Orange” but also the hardship and difficulty, living under the poverty line.
Receiving FPT scholarship, Le Hong Nhung, 11th grade of Cam Lo High School said: “I am so happy because this scholarship can help my family to overcome the difficulties caused by the last flood and with this money I can continue to go to school”.

These scholarships belongs to FPT’s 300 scholarships to AO child victims in Quang Tri province in three school years from 2009 to 2012 under the framework of the MOU among FPT Corporation, the National Funds for Vietnamese Children and Vietnam, les Enfants de la Dioxine (VNED for short) dated last August.
Towards the Central region of Vietnam, FPT has carried out a number of activities to support affected people of the last flood. Over 400 million VND collected by FPT employees has been given directly to people in flooded area.
Dong Bao Fund, on behalf of FPT Corporation has delivered presents in districts and communes of the provinces of Kontum, Quang Nam and Da Nang city, implementing the program “to take the children back to school” with more than 600 presents for children in flooded area (including notebook, bag, pens and an amount of money)
In the weekends of 31st October and 1st November, FPT shall carry out the last support phase in Hue with the total amount of 100 million VND in the districts of Phu Loc, Quang Dien and remote A Luoi district.
