15 Divisions Participate in FPT Open Chess Tournament
On March 16, the 3rd FPT Open Chess Tournament officially started at the Tao Dan Sports Club, First Dist., Hochiminh City. Aside from 9 FPT subsidiaries were 6 other Hochiminh City’s IT companies.

The Tournament’s invited companies included Tuong Minh Private Enterprise (TMA), Business Management Software Company (FAST), Technology Group (CMC), MISA Joint Stock Company, Saigon Computer Electronics Company (SSP) and DIGI- TEXX Limited Company.
In the last Tournament, male and female chess champions were TMA Company and FPT Information System’s employees respectively. Chinese chess champion was a staff of PC World Magazine.
The championship consists of 5 Gold medals (2 for men’s and women’s chess singles, 2 for men’s and women’s Chinese chess singles, and 1 for overall team).
In 2007, FPT signed contracts sponsoring Vietnamese young talents in international championships. In the Asian Chess Tournament in the United Arab Emirates , Vu Thi Dieu Ai won a Silver medal for U8 category and Le Huu Thai won a Bronze medal in the all ages category. FPT plans to sponsor this year’s International Chess Tournament in Vietnam.
