The event is hosted by the ASEAN Foundation and the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) with the topic: “Business Response to Social Issues in Asia: Getting It Done”.

24/11/2008

The event will be attended by representatives from NGOs, Asian businesses, and international corporations having operations in Asia such as Intel, Microsoft... Famous Corporate Social Responsibility guests-speakers will attend and speak at the event.

On November 19, Mr. Le Xuan Khoa, Vice Chairman of the Committee for Establishment of FPT Community Development Fund delivered a report on “Promoting cooperation between Southeast Asian business’ charity funds” to the audience from other countries in the region such as Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia...

More and more big private companies in Asia are interested in establishing funds for social activities. The forum provides a chance for participants to share information about the CSR landscape in their countries, thereby providing data for a panorama of the implementation of these activities in Southeast Asia to create a network of funds in Southeast Asia to promote and realize CSR in the region.

Mr. Le Xuan Khoa presented FPT’s thesis on the current CSR situation in Vietnam, and offered recommendations suitable to Vietnam’s current conditions.

FPT recommendations focused on the promotion of modern technology application in community activities to support the realization process, attract the necessary resources, as well as ensure transparency and high efficacy.

To achieve this aim, FPT has developed the website www.vicongdong.vn, a community network, with the hope of making the site the largest online address in Vietnam catering to CSR demands. This community will facilitate a transparent and strict operating environment, where the community can both participate in and monitor the processes from planning to reporting, helping CSR in Vietnam be really effective.
