2008: FPT earned 1 billion dollars in revenues
December 30, 2008 – FPT Corporation’s revenue has hit the US$ 1 billion landmark this morning, confirming its position as the leading technology company in Vietnam.

Given that the world is in a financial crisis that’s seriously affecting the national economy, this event has proved the Corporation’s right vision as well as its staff’s determination to overcome obstacles and challenges.
“US$ 1 billion in revenue in 2008 marks an important milestone for FPT after 20 years of development. From 2001 to 2007, FPT’s average annual growth rate was 40%. FPT will retain this growth and continue following its visions”, said Mr. Bui Quang Ngoc, Deputy General Director of FPT.
In 1988, FPT was founded by 13 key persons. After 10 years, in 1998, FPT reached US$ 46 million in revenues.
In 2003, FPT reached US$ 200 million in revenue and started planning to reach US$ 1 billion in 2008.
One billion USD is not only a dream for FPT Corporation, but also a challenge to affirm its position as the leading technological corporation of Vietnam.
Being 20 years old, FPT now has 16 subsidiaries with many partners, with over 9 thousand employees (as of November 2008).
Also in 2008, the VNR500, the Vietnamese version of Fortune 500, listed FPT as the largest private corporation in Vietnam and is among the top 20 largest corporations in Vietnam.
The VNR500 was made based on the data from Vietnam Report and the most recent research results from government agencies (including General Statistics Bureau, General Tax Bureau, and General Customs Bureau etc.). Companies were ranked according to the reported revenue, profit, growth, total assets and employees.
