Following the success of 2007 “Just do it”, 2008 “Just do it” main theme: “Adam, Eva and so on” is expected to bring big surprises to the public.
This is the first digital art show in Hanoi that has demonstrated the 8X - 9X generations’ points of view on a sensitive issue - gender. In an advanced information technology age with different social values, Mr. Mai Thanh Long- FPT Arena’s Director said: “This year’s exhibition presents young people’s straightforward and responsible views about contemporary issues. It shows modern and progressive personal attitude towards gender, sex, love and other contemporary issues”.
By using glowing and fresh colors, mixed with impressive red and black in Adam and Eva implied images, designers have displayed the different changes in couples’ shared lives, their unspoken wishes for a blissful relationship, and the desire to discover and conquer … “Adam and Eva” is a positioning strand, “so on” the wind and the imagination a kite. The combination gently lifts people’s inner thoughts up high as they enjoy the beauty of arts.
In addition, many young designers chose typography, modifying characters, to illustrate their distress about love, loneliness, fear and also opinion on men or women’s troubles…
For instance, by using Corel and Photoshop graphic applications, student Ngo Nhat Quang re-created “Ganh” picture traditional style, reminding visitors of Tu Xuong’s “Thuong Vo” poem. On the contrary, by using 3D modeling, student Nguyen Thi Phuong Dung modeled a hand reaching out to a faint life at the end of a tunnel as a call for help. In another work called “Portrait”, student Hoang Manh Duy skillfully combined characters to illustrate various depths of emotion on human faces.
Neither sophisticated nor loud, the less-than-5-minute-clip made by two students Trang Cong Minh and Phung The Minh about underprivileged children, created using Flash and MovieMaker applications with the grievous song “No frontier” as background music, overwhelmed visitors, moving many to tears.
Launched in November 2007, “Adam, Eva and so on” had received some 200 submissions from more than 100 applicants. The Organizing Committee had selected 70 students’ 103 works to be printed and displayed though projectors. During the exhibition, prominent works will be chosen. Sponsored by Vtecom, an valuable Apple product is the prize for the most prominent piece of work.
The exhibition lasted for 5 days (from April 11th to 15th, 2008 ) at 42 Yet Kieu Str, Hanoi .
