Announcement: Mr. Truong Gia Binh to retake the CEO chair of FPT

On September 26, 2012, Mr. Truong Dinh Anh officially handed in his resignation from the CEO title of FPT Corporation following his dispute over company policy on strategy planning and executive methodology. The company’s Board of Directors approved his resignation, appointing Dr. Truong Gia Binh, its current Chairman, to the position commencing on the same day. The Board, however, still spends good words on Anh’s leadership and contribution to the development of the company, showing regret over his resignation decision.
Truong Dinh Anh continues to keep his roles as member of the Board of Directors and Board of Founders of FPT Corporation. He is also a member of management board and senior adviser in FPT’s subsidiaries such as FPT Retail, FPT Telecom, and FPT Online.
FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh will play the double role from September 26, 2012 until when his assignment is approved by the General Shareholder Meeting, which expects to be organized in early 2013.
Mr. Truong Gia Binh is one of the founders of FPT. He has played the roles of Chairman and CEO of the company for more than twenty years (from 1988 to 2009). Under his leadership, from thirteen members, FPT has become the leading information technology and telecommunication group in Vietnam with record turnover of US$ 1 billion in 2008.
His coming back as the CEO aims to ensure the group’s sustainable development and better preparation for the transition of future leadership generation.
FPT’s Board of Directors confirms to continue its OneFPT strategy, focusing on core businesses of information technology and telecommunications. With the determination and effort to promote business activities of the entire executive engine, the Board believes that FPT would achieve its performance targets.
MR. TRUONG GIA BINH
Mr. Truong was born in 1956. He and twelve scientists of Vietnam had overcome difficulties to establish Food Processing Technology Company on September 13, 1988, which is known as FPT Corporation today.
During the development of FPT, he is considered the soul and the motivator of the entire organization who always formulates strategic guideline for each development period to sustain steady growth for the company.
Under his leadership, FPT has become the leading information technology and telecommunication of Vietnam, making great effort to be a company of world-class prestige.
He is not only a businessman but also a patriot who has great influence upon the government’s policy making relating to IT development in Vietnam.

He graduated from Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University in Russia in 1979 and successfully defended his doctoral thesis in 1982. He was honored Associate Professor by the State of Vietnam in 1991.

Finishing eight months of 2012, FPT gained 15,298 billion in revenue and 1,540 billion dongs in profit. Profit-after-tax of parent company reached 956 billion dongs, earning 3,529 dongs per share on average.
