Avoid traffic jams by using digital maps
On May 11, 2009, Visky Technology Group under FPT Corporation signed a cooperation contract with Ho Chi Minh City’s Transport Department to update the situations of road-digging, “blockhouses” and traffic jams on the digital map Vimap.

Vimap-GTVT is an application running on mobile phones supporting JAVA MIDP 2.0 and GPRS. Users will get information about places with road-digging, “blockhouses” and traffic jams in Ho Chi Minh City through mobile phones.
In addition, this software also has the function of finding the shortest way out of places of road-digging and traffic jams.
As scheduled, on May 18, the first Vimap 2.0 version will be introduced and will provide updated information about the traffic situation in Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Nhat, Head of Vimap Project, said that the new Vimap version would make it easier for citizens in traffic and would help the Transport Department to be able to provide citizens with information about locations with road work.
