Award the 2nd “Kindness sprout” Program

The 2^nd Kindness Sprout Program was mobilized since 6^th October 2009. After 3 months of implementation, the program attracted 105 projects registering for competition with various topics.

After the short-listing round, 83 projects were selected by the community and considered by advisory council to the second round. After this process, 22 projects were selected to round 3 for Assessing Council which consists of prestigious experts to assess and interview.

As a result, 10 best projects were awarded with maximum prize of VND 35 million funded by FPT for implementation. After receiving the donor commitments, authors of the projects will participate in a program of training project management skills, exchanging and learning professional working methods from experts in social works coming from domestic and international non-governmental organizations.

In the implementation phase, the Organization Board continued to follow up the progress of projects, consult and give out appropriate supplementary measures if necessary for the projects to obtain maximum effectiveness.

Ms. Truong Thanh Thanh – Vice Chairman of FPT Corporation and Chairman of the Assessment council of the program said that: “Projects in this year are very plentiful and have higher quality than last year in terms of professionalism because they were more carefully paid attention right from the idea forming phase, project authors spent more time on doing surveys and especially receiving professional consultation from advisory experts of the program”.

From the ideas generating from individual desire of a victim of bombs, the project on building a website to share and help victims of bombs caused by wars was deployed by Nguyen Duc Huynh.

From the pressing attitude as well as desires of students of Di Nau Primary School, in Thach That, Ha Tay, every week, in spite of the long way, the young journalist group, comes to the site for survey and build a project to improve hygienic conditions as well as to raise the students’ awareness of protecting environmental sanitation.

Each project participating in the program expresses the desire to improve outstanding problems in the community, regardless they are small or big ones.

This is also the opportunity for the project “For the community” to summarize its typical activities 2009 to integrate hearts making efforts for a better society such as the Swallow Awards 2009 to reward groups and individuals taking good charity and voluntary activities in 2008, the forum “For the community Initiative” aiming at sharing and integrating initiatives for the common sake of the community, the competition “Writing For the community”, Kindness Sprout2 and other typical activities.

The program Kindness Sprout2 in 2009 was held by FPT on the website: www.vicongdong.vn with the support of TienPhongBank, information sponsor from Dantri e-newspaper, and consultation in terms of professionalism for the program and projects from the short-list to the final rounds of the program from the Organization Live & Learn (The Centre for Living and Learning for Environment and Community).

The Program is held for every domestic and foreign individual, organization living, working, learning in Vietnam or any foreign country that, regardless of age, are interested in social activities and have ideas for activities that have positive effects on the community.

The program aims at selecting, on the nationwide scale, community ideas which are feasible and can be expanded to support in terms of finance and experience…to become projects with actual value for the community. Through this, the program may help the young generation have good knowledge, desires and ability to take solutions for social problems, contributing to build the country.
