Mr. Trần Vĩnh Đức – General Director of Bảo Minh Insurance; Mr. Christopher Desriac, General Director of Microsoft Vietnam and Mr. Nguyễn Tuấn Hùng, Deputy General Director of FPT IS – Hochiminh City branch all signed the agreement.

With this agreement, Bao Minh Insurance, one of Vietnam’s leading insurance corporations, has become the pioneer in installing and using copyrighted software. This decision is taken in line with the government’s efforts to create favorable investment conditions through crackdowns on intellectual property right infringement.

The Get Genuine Windows Agreement gives copyright access starting January 1st 2008 to previously non-genuine installed versions of windows. This agreement will give Bao Minh legal access and use of 800 versions of Microsoft Window XP Professional.

As part of the agreement, BMI will, in cooperation with FPT IS Hochiminh City branch and Microsoft Vietnam, optimize its information technology network based on Microsoft technologies. By investing in information technology, BMI is confirming its commitment to improve its quality products and customer services, raise competitiveness as well as promote professionalism in business management and operations.

Mr. Trần Vĩnh Đức, General Director of BMI, stated in his speech: "The application of information technology in business is essential and important to organizations operating in the provision of insurance products and services. This demand has grown even higher since Vietnam is integrating into the global market".

Mr. Christopher Desriac, General Director of Microsoft Vietnam said: "Microsoft highly appreciates the efforts BMI have made in legalizing its windows system. BMI is truly an organization with vision".

The three sides all agreed to cooperate closely to install and ensure application of information technology for BMI’s business operations.
