Chairman Truong Gia Binh becomes one of the 50 game changers

Being known as an outstanding businessman of Vietnam in the new era, Chairman and CEO Truong Gia Binh of FPT Corporation was named in the “Top 50 Game Changers” declared by VnExpress on October 16.

In 1988, Binh and several scientists and engineers founded FPT, which has kept leading role in introducing IT advancement to Vietnam. From 13 members of the very first day, the company has developed to ten subsidiaries with more than 13,000 employees, working in 11 countries. The company owns a total asset of approximately 15,000 billion dongs.

FPT’s success under his leadership has become the IT icon of the country. Binh was also voted to Top 10 IT Characters and Top 10 Individuals who have made great contribution to and influence on the Internet development of Vietnam for the past ten years.

Binh retook the CEO position of FPT Corporation after Truong Dinh Anh’s official resignation on September 26.

Former CEO Truong Dinh Anh and FSpace Manager Vu Trong Thu of FPT Corporation had been also nominated to the Game Changer list, however, they were rejected to be named.

50 Game Changers honors prestigious businessmen, scientists, artists, doctors, architects, managers and athletes who have gained breakthrough achievements and are able to create new trends in their professions.

Particularly, in business area, beside Truong Gia Binh, the nominees are highly appreciated for their creativity and achievements. They have been working dynamically in the key industries of the country. Typical samples include Mr. Ly Ngoc Minh who created the most popular Vietnamese pottery brand name and Ms. Mai Kieu Lien who has led Vinamilk to the number one position in domestic dairy industry despite tough competition from foreign competitors.

The voting for Game Changers organized by VnExpress in five areas including Business, Fine Art, Sociology, Sport and Science and Technology took place from September 18 to October 15. The judge panel had chosen the 50 Game Changers basing on their vision and in-depth knowledge through a closed voting session. This is the first year VnExpress has initiated the selection.
