FPT University has collected nine charitable bookshelves.
More than 600 books were delivered by lecturers and students of FPT University, passing over 400 kilometers of rocky road to be well arranged in the school’s library in the categories of entertainment, self-enrichment, literature and reference.
The books were given in the witness of Mr. Hoang Kim Phu, Vice Chairman of Lao Va Chai People Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Canh- Principal of Lao Va Chai Secondary School, representatives of the Youth Union of Yen Minh district, and teachers and pupils of the school.
“Due to difficult economic condition, the pupils here can not dress warm. They also have very limited access to books and newspapers, which have been brought mainly by teachers from the district’s central region. With this bookshelf, hopefully they will expose more to the diversified knowledge sources for edutainment purposes”.
With the help of FPT University students, the pupils are able to choose and borrow the first books.
Upon this occasion, the iGo volunteer group organized the program “Jacket for winter” to help the children in Yen Minh district to study and survive the chilly winter in the Northern part of the country.
FPT University has been implementing the project “100 charitable bookshelves” since July 2012 to share a hand and help the children and people in remote areas form good habit of reading books. To date, nine bookshelves have been delivered.
The bookshelf arrived to Lao Va Chai Secondary School of Ha Giang when it was undergoing the coldest temperature of the year.
