Cooperation in technology research and transference
On April 21 2009, FPT Corporation and SBA Centre in Austria signed a memorandum of understanding of the cooperation agreement in researching, developing and transferring technology. This is a programme fostering the cooperation relationship promoted by the Austrian government.

The signing ceremony was organized at FPT University with the witness of the Austrian Ambassador - Johannes Peterlik.
SBA Centre (Secure Business Austria) is a technology-researching centre founded by the Austrian government to strengthen the association between enterprises and universities/colleges in applying technology in commercial security.
The centre has been in operation for 7 years with the participation of three leading universities in technology research in Austria –University of Vienna, Vienna University of Technology, Graz University of Technology – and 13 industrial enterprises.
FPT Corporation and SBA Centre would promote the cooperation in deploying scientific research and technology projects, co-organize special conferences on IT. The two sides also mentioned the possibility of supporting FPT graduates and officers to take part in graduate courses at the three universities under SBA Centre.
Professor A Min Tjoa, Director of SBA Centre, emphasized: “We are very happy with this cooperation. SBA has collaborated with organizations and enterprises in many parts of the world, such as the U.S., Canada … FPT Corporation is the first unit in Asia that SBA has had a cooperation agreement with. We hope that this relationship will greatly benefit both sides.”
Attending the signing ceremony, Professor Hans Kaiser – Vice Rector in charge of International Relations of University of Vienna, said that he was willing to accept lecturers of FPT University to study in Ph.D. courses in Austria.
Both sides also shared the common view in narrowing the gap between the real needs of industries and the supply from universities. This is one of the reason that FPT Corporation decided to found FPT University.
Mr. Trương Gia Bình, Chairman of Boad of Directors of FPT Corporation, also exchanged with the guests about the new technologies that FPT was researching, such as face-identifying technology, security technology through fingerprints… In the near future, FPT would found a research institute to further develop researching and applying new technology.
