Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan visited FPT Japan

The Deputy PM encouraged FPT to continue keeping pioneer role in researching and developing software in Vietnam, promoting the company to take up more market share in the international market, including Japan.

On May 22, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan visited and had a conversation with FPT employees in Tokyo, Japan.

Previously, on May 22, he attended the Nikkei award presentation ceremony, in which Chairman and CEO Truong Gia Binh of FPT Corporation had been honored for his contribution to the development of information technology development of Vietnam. Binh was the first Vietnamese businessman awarded by Nikkei since its inauguration eighteen years ago.

The Deputy PM congratulated Truong Gia Binh upon his receiving the Nikkei Asia with Prof. Tejrai Aminabhavi (India) and Prof. Vann Molyvann (Cambodia).

The Deputy PM encouraged FPT to continue keeping pioneer role in researching and developing software in Vietnam while promoting to take up more market share in the international market, including Japan. The Nikkei award was considered the pride of the IT industry, recognizing its important roles in the development of IT industry in Japan and in the region.

On the same day, Deputy PM Nhan visited the Institute of Chemical and Physical Research (RIKEN), the Temple of Meiji Emperor, and had a conversation with FPT employees in Tokyo, Japan.

This visit is a part of his attendance in the 19th International Conference on “the Future of Asia” in Tokyo, Japan from 22 to 25 May 2013.

From an economic perspective, the conference focus on the question of how Asian countries should forge relationships and build regional cooperation. Prospects for the region's continued sustainable growth would also be addressed.

This was the second time Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan had attended the prestigious forum of Asia.
