Earning Release: FPT earned VND 354 billion in profit in the first two months

FPT Corporation today announces a record revenue of approximately VND 3,668 billion for the first two months in 2012 though challenges still remain in the economy. This revenue has represented an increase of 15% compared with the same period of 2011 and completed 102% of plan. Profit-before-tax reached more than VND 354 billion, growing 20% when compared with the same period of the prior year and surpassed 2% of plan. Profit-after-tax of parent company in the first two months leveled 28% up to VND 210 billion.

FPT Chairman attended World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos
From January 23 to 29, 2012, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh attended the annual meeting of the WEF in Davos, Switzerland.
This is the first time FPT attended the WEF’s event as a foundation member, where it could take good chances to exchange information with about twenty potential partners. Initial cooperation agreement were discussed between FPT and Intel and SK Planet.
Building database for Vietnam Insurance Association
The signing ceremony to launch the project “Building Database on Compulsory Insurance by Vehicle Owner” were held by Vietnam Insurance Association and FPT Information System on January 5 in Melia Hotel, Hanoi.
The total value of the contract is more than VND 32 billion.
FPT started selling home electronic appliance commencing Februay
In February 2012, the Electronic Product Trading Center (PCE) of FPT Trading Group imported the first batch of home appliances to start this brand new business.
Right after its foundation in January 2012, PCE has become the exclusive distributor of a number of products of Panasonic and Syabas (U.S)- the world’s leading manufacturer of Set Top Box (for decoding video signal) and HD Media Player such as Popcorn Hour and Popbox.
FPT introduced ATM Guard
After a fifteen- month research, FPT Information System Services (FPT IS Services) succeeded in manufacturing alarming device for ATM called FPT ATM Guard.
The compact and mission-critical design of this alarming system enables proactive detection of unpermitted ATM detachment, sabotage by bust or blow-torch over ATM; violent vibration or remove.
Launching ERP system for Petrolimex
The ERP system for the National Petroleum Corporation (Petrolimex) was officially launched at the HQ after 700 days of implementation.
The USD 12 million- ERP project for Petrolimex signed in November 2009 is recognized as the largest ERP contract in Vietnam.
FPT Research Institute won the first place at EADS competition
On February, 2012, the highest place of the competition ran by European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS) to search for technology solution to help fishermen survive in storms went to researchers from the Space Researching Center (Fspace) of FPT Technology Institute .
This is the first year the competition has been organized in Vietnam, attracting the participation of univesities and intitutes all over the country.
FPT is one of the companies having the most cash-in-hand
As per financial statements submitted by enterprises, FPT and seven other companies were recognized having the most cash-in-hand.
In 2011, FPT Corporation earned a revenue of VND 26 trillion, completing 105,72% of initial plan and more than 97% of adjusted plan at an increase of 27% compared with 2010.
FPT Telecom gained fast grow rate in 2011
FPT Telecom was ranked the 295th place in the list of 500 fastest growing enterprises of Vietnam in 2011 (FAST500).
This is the second year in a row the FAST 500 has been studied and declared. To be named in the FAST500, the revenue growth rate of the enteprise in 2007-2010 period (CAGR) should be 30% per year at minimum.
NeuSoft and FPT will cooperate in healthcare area
From February 7 to 12, the FPT delegation led by Chairman Truong Gia Binh visited and worked with Neusoft Corporation in China. FPT will sign a contract to invest in and trade medical equipment after having reviewed the proposal of the healthcare technology project team.
