On June 9, 2011, the AAG submarine cable system (toward Hong Kong) was maintained to improve its performance efficiency. During maintenance period, it took longer time to identify the broken segment due to bad weather in the Hong Kong sea. Worsely, the swell of shaken sea usually made the welding ship fail to work, making maintenance time longer than expected.

Upon receiving AAG’s maintenance notice, FPT Telecom had extended the other international cable systems’s capacity to minimize the incident’s impact to its clients.

After the AAG system was completely maintenance, FPT has put the total band-width into full operation, turning the extended capacity into official employment. Now, the total band-width for Internet connection by FPT Telecom will be much higher than before the incident.

In order to improve the service quality, FPT Telecom will continue to develop the network infrastructure, increasing the international band-width by 30% to 50% in the next six months.
