FPT’s revenue up 28% after first four months

Profit-after-tax was VND 636 billion and profit-after-tax of holding company was VND 475 billion, increasing 2% compared to the same period of the prior year. Earning per share (EPS) was VND 1,727.

Global expansion strategy of FPT got some good signals. After 4 months, consolidated revenue from foreign markets was VND 889 billion, up 21% compared to the same period in 2013. In term of value of signed contracts, while FPT Software with international business gained good results, FPT IS, usually focusing resources on the domestic market, also reaped several successes. In the 1st quarter of 2014, contracts FPT IS gained from foreign markets were worth USD 54.2 million, equivalent to VND 1,139 billion, up 78.4% compared to the same period in 2013.

FPT issue more than 68 million shares to pay dividends for 2013

According to the announcement of Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, the ex- rights date was May 7 and the final registration date was May 9. Accordingly, FPT would pay the remaining 2013 cash dividend at a rate of 15%/shares on May 22. It was expected that the number of stock dividend would officially be traded on June 18, after the necessary procedures are completed.

FPT Corporation intended to issue 68,779,844 shares for stock dividend payment at the rate of 25%, which was adopted at 2014 AGM. Odd number of shares arising (if any) due to rounding would not be counted.

For listed stocks, shareholders receive dividend at depository centers where depository account is opened.

FPT appoint two new Vice General Directors

On 28 April 2014, FPT Corporation’s Board of Directors (BOD) has approved the resolution on appointing Mr. Duong Dung Trieu as Vice General Director of Global Expansion and Mr. Nguyen Khac Thanh as Vice General Director of Global Human Resources.

This appointment follows the “FPT’s senior leadership rotation” program released by FPT in March 2014. Accordingly, FPT senior management will be rotated among the group’s business lines to gain various experience and to improve their leadership and management capabilities.

The appointment of two vice general directors in charge of global expansion is to strengthen the management team, which is FPT’s determination in implementing the Global Expansion strategy.

Mr. Duong Dung Trieu, who was born in 1973, joined FPT after graduated from Hanoi University of Technology in 1995. He has extensive experience in managing and implementing FPT’s large scale projects in banking, telecommunication and taxation sectors both in domestic and international markets. He has been in charge of important positions including Deputy Director of FPT’s Software Centre No. 3, Managing Director of FPT’s Software Solutions (FSS), Vice General Director of FPT IS and CEO of FPT IS.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Thanh, who was born in 1964, joined FPT in 1991. He graduated as a Bachelor of Mathematics from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MGU) in 1987 and obtained his Candidate of Science Diploma in Mathematics and Physics from the same university in 1990. He was one of the first people to be in charge of the new operation of FPT in education and is capable of mobilizing the human resource and unleashing employees’ potential. He has been through important positions at FPT including Deputy Director of FPT’s software production center, Director of International Programmer Training Centre, and Vice Principal of FPT University.

Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Fukada: FPT lead economic development between Vietnam and Japan

On April 8, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam H.E. Hiroshi Fukada visited FPT’s foundation at Hoa Lac high-tech park (Hanoi) at the invitation of FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh.

Japanese Ambassador highly appreciated FPT in close cooperation with Japanese businesses over the years. "As the typical IT enterprise in Vietnam, FPT is leading development cooperation between Japan and Vietnam in the field of information technology," said he.

According to FPT chairman Truong Gia Binh, as getting active in building relationships between Vietnam and Japan, FPT’s biggest concern was to develop staffs knowing Japanese. Therefore, besides training Bridge System Engineer s (Japanese speaking) in the country, FPT also planned to train employees in Japan.

After more than 13 years, FPT has set up offices in three major cities and had over 130 customers including leading companies such as Hitachi, Panasonic, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Nissen, NTT etc.

eMobiz get only 5-star ranking at Sao Khue Award 2014

12 products and services of FPT were honored at Sao Khue Award 2014. eMobiz - an application installed in a handheld device got the only 5-star ranking among 70 honors.

In 2003, FPT eMobiz was deployed for the first customer Unilever Vietnam. After 11 years, customers and markets of eMobiz has gained impressive growth. eMobiz was regularly used by about 10,000 sale staffs of the leading companies in the field of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), consumer goods, pharmaceutical product, food and beverage, oil and gas etc…

FPT Software found FSoft Can Tho

In the afternoon of April 24, FSoft Can Tho with an area of 250m2 was opened at No. 69 Hung Vuong Street, Ninh Kieu District.

FPT Software is the first software company to open software center in the Mekong Delta. FSoft Can Tho was founded with goals of implementing projects for Japanese partners including Hitachi Medical and Hitachi Aloka Medical and efficiently using young workforce of Can Tho in particular and the Mekong Delta in general.

As planned, Foft Can Tho will reach 100 people by the end of 2014. Right after the opening ceremony, the center wished to employ 40 project managers, system solution engineers, software engineers, and offered dozens of internship positions to students in the Mekong delta. It is expected that by the end of 2018, Fsoft Can Tho will reach 500 people and become one of FPT Software’s important growth engines like FPT FPT Software HCM, FPT Software Da Nang.

FPT Software cooperate in scientific research with Hanoi University

Ngày 24/4, đại diện Ban Đảm bảo và Phát triển nguồn lực FPT Software (FWA) đã ký thỏa thuận tham gia đề tài nghiên cứu khoa học với Khoa tiếng Nhật, Đại học Hà Nội, về nội dung đào tạo tiếng Nhật cho doanh nghiệp.

On April 24, the representative of FPT Software Workforce Assurance (FWA) signed an agreement to participate in the scientific research in training Japanese for enterprises with Japanese Faculty under Hanoi University .

The package of the training program consists of three components including Knowledge Base & skills; JC Process and MOCK Project.

This agreement started the transfer process of Fresher Comter training program at Hanoi University in particular and universities in the Northern region in general.

On April 11, FPT Software celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Sofitel Saigon Plaza, District 1, HCMC.

After 10 years of establishment, FPT Software HCM is the largest software enterprise as well as makes ​​ important contributions to development of ICT industry in HCM City. VNACCS officially launched

On April 1, the Vietnam Automated Cargo Clearance System (VNACCS) was officially launched nationwide, marking a significant milestone for Vietnam Customs. FPT.VNACCS allows enterprises to efficiently manage customs clearance activities, reduce incorrect information and data and therefore, decrease transaction time.

With a support network located at 34 custom departments nationwide, FPT IS not only support via phone, online but also manipulate the system with enterprises.

FPT Telecom provide next-generation online TV solution

In 02 days (April 8 and 10), FPT Telecom International Co., Ltd also known as FTI (under FPT Telecom) along with Vidyo firm (U.S.) introduced Video Conferencing in HCMC and Hanoi. The event attracted nearly 200 companies across the country.

Mobility is considered the highlight of Video Conference solution developed by Vidyo. Rather than depending on player and mechanical systems in offices, Vidyo enable users to connect with each other on mobile devices such as laptops, smartphones, tablets getting integrated webcam or camera and connected Internet in WiFi, 3G and 4G, forms. In particular, the product can also be integrated on current web browsers.

FSB cooperate with Chonnam National University, South Korea

On April 10, the signing ceremony of cooperation agreement between FPT School of Business (FSB) under FPT University and Chonnam National University (CNU) took place at Viet Uc building, My Dinh urban area 1, Hanoi.

At the signing ceremony, CNU Rector Prof. Ki Hyoung Sohn announced that CNU would offer FSB students some scholarships of Global MBA. At the same time, it would get the long-term cooperation with FSB in the fields of student and teacher exchanges and joint training programs such as summer semester and non-formal training. The lecturer exchanges are expected to run in October this year.
