FPT again holding robot programming competition

SMAC Challenge (formerly Mobile Robot Challenge 2013) is expected to be launched in June with the participation of ICT students in Hanoi.

The second robot programming competition is about to be started.

SMAC Challenge is planned to take place from mid-June to mid-October this year. After the preliminary round, the winning teams will participate in a technology summer camp by FPT Technology Committee. FPT experts will introduce artificial intelligence technologies such as natural language processing, speech synthesis ... in order to help teams to develop and complete their own applications.

The robot programming contest is hold by FPT for the second time. Director of Technology Research Institute Tran The Trung said that the contest aimed to create an interesting and rewarding playground for ICT students as well as encourage the spirit of study and research of the youth.

Through the contest, FPT also desires to promote the technology tend named SMAC (Social / Security, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud Computing) based on platform of the robot SmartOshin. At the same time, the corporation hopes to find qualified participants in many scientific research projects in the future.

This year’s prizes include the first worth VND 15 million, the second worth 10 million and the third worth VND 5 million. Students who participate in developing products in SMAC Challenge will have the opportunity to work and cooperate with FPT Technology Committee right after the contest.

The first robot programming contest was held in 2013 with the participation of 9 teams in Hanoi. Mobile Robot Challenge final was held in November 2013 at FPT University in Hoa Lac High Tech Park (Hanoi).
