FPT aims to achieve USD 600 million from Japan by 2020

As the IT enterprise in Vietnam with the largest revenue from the Japanese market, FPT attended Japan ICT Investment Promotion Forum held in Tokyo on July 8.

 

The event was within the framework of the visit to South Korea and Japan by the delegation led by Minister of Information and Group Communications Nguyen Bac Son from June 30 to July 9. At the forum, Deputy General Director of FPT Duong Dung Trieu presented the ICT cooperation potential between Vietnam and Japan in general as well as FPT and Japanese partners in particular.

 

According to Mr. Trieu, 2 3.3% of Japanese enterprises now choose Vietnam, making Vietnam become a country ranked second in the world in providing IT services to the Japanese market. In particular, FPT is Vietnam’s IT Company with biggest revenue. "To meet 30 percent annual growth of the market, FPT is accelerating 10,000 bridge system engineers program," said he.

The Corp aims at USD 600 million in revenue from the Japanese market by 2020 and the leading service Cloud-based services/solutions provider in Japan. Currently, FPT has gained some success such as developing app for smart TV, or converting app to Saas-Software as a service for some companies in Japan namely Toshiba, Calsonic Kansei, Gulliver etc.

 

In order to achieve this goal, FPT is strengthening its key development strategies in the Japanese market such as 10,000 bridge system engineer program; developing Cloud/BigData/IoT in intensive sectors including CAD/CAM, embedded software, power as well as searching human resources in Myanmar, Philippines. Besides, FPT will also promote cooperation with Japanese companies to bring their advanced IT solutions to Vietnam, helping solve problems in such areas as customs, transport, securities, agriculture etc.

 

FPT officially opened its branch in Japan in 2005. This is also the first Vietnam-owned IT company to be run in this market. After 10 years of operation here, FPT Japan has 3 offices in major cities of Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya) and nearly 200 clients inclusing leading corporations of Japan namely Nissen, Toshiba , Hitachi, Fujitsu, NTT Data, IT Holdings, Agrex.
