FPT and Google increases connection bandwidth

FPT Telecom, a member of FPT Group, and Google today agreed to increase the exploitation efficiency and connection bandwidth by 30% and 50% respectively for Google’s services hosted by FPT Telecom.

This is one of discussed matters between FPT and Google within the Asia Peering Forum 2011 organized for the first time in Vietnam in mid September. The forum attracted the attendance of 140 representatives from Asia-Pacific and North America. Most of telecom providers in Vietnam attended the event. This forum also features first time presentations of Content Delivery Network (CDN) providers in Vietnam- an emerging market in the Southest Asia in particular and Asia in general.

Recently, FPT Telecom has set up 50 Gbps connection with Google, Limelight, Akamai, Microsoft and among others. The company expects to improve direct connection speed with these vendors to provide the best quality services for end-users. In the ambition to expand services, Google agreed to increase the number of servers and connection bandwidth by 30 to 50%.

The Asia Peering Forum 2011 was a place for speakers from world’s leading telecom providers to share and update latest technology. It has created a chance for them to meet, saking hands and enrich their business potentials.
