Turning off unused electrical devices is one of the most helpful actions for Earth Hour.

Conveying the message “Let’s act together”, the Earth Hour Campaign this year aims to create significant turning point in efforts to save the energy and against climate change from all walks of life.

FPT Administrative Department (FAD) cooperates with Office Management Board to appeal all the FPT employees for this campaign.

Accordingly, FPT can contribute to Earth Hour by turning off all unnecessary electrical equipments at working places or at home from 20:30 to 21:30 on March 23 (Saturday).

Member companies within the corporation will shut down all electrical name boards and advertizing boards both inside and outside their office during the Earth Hour.

Recently, FPT is having seven office buildings and facilities across the country including: FPT Cau Giay (Cau Giay district, Hanoi), FPT Da Nang (Massda Industrial zone, Da Nang), F-Town HCM (District No. 9, Ho Chi Minh City), FPT HCM (153 Nguyen Dinh Chieu, District No. 3, Ho Chi Minh City), FPT University and FPT Software in Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park (Thach That district, Hanoi) and FPT Tan Thuan 1 and 2 at 29B - 31B - 33B lot, Tan Thuan road, Tan Thuan Processing and Exporting Zone, District No. 7, Ho Chi Minh City.

Earth Hour has been officially promoted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade since February 25. For years, the program has gained enviable reputation in raising the awareness of Vietnamese people in regard of the causes and effects of climate change, in which inappropriate use and wastage of energy are among major causes.

By a number of activities such as making short film, imprinting fingerprints as commitment to energy saving, preventing climate change, organizing “Green movement”, bicycling for Earth Hour and turning off light bulbs throughout the country, the Earth Hour 2013 will be participated by leaders of the State, Hanoi Capital and related agencies and organizations and a great number of students and the people.

As planned, the official turn- off-light ceremony for Earth Hour is lasting from 20:30 to 21:30 on March 23 at August Revolution Square, in front of Hanoi Opera House.
