FPT becomes subcontractor for TABMIS project
FPT signed an agreement with IBM on 20 March 2006 to implement the Ministry of Finance’s Treasury and Budget Management Information System (TABMIS) project. This is the biggest sub-contract in information technology to be awarded to a Vietnamese partner.

As a subcontractor, FPT will supply hardware, build systems, provide training, and implement and support the operation of the State’s Treasury System in 64 cities and provinces and more than 600 districts and precincts. The contract will last for four years.
TABMIS is financed by the World Bank to the tune of US$44 million and aims to strengthen transparency in budget disbursement and the reporting of financial agencies at all levels. It also assists decision making by the State’s management agencies.
An existing trade software solution will be integrated with FPT hardware to create a financial control system to be used nationwide, from central to regional financial management bodies. The system will also be connected with systems from other ministries and industries to help control financial and human resources effectively and fully implement development strategies.
