FPT Chairman to attend World Economic Forum on East Asia 2013
This year conference will focus on three pillars including: Ispiring Inclusive Transformation, Relizing Regional Integration, and Scaling Regional Solutions for Global Resilence.

The World Economic Forum on East Asia 2013 opens on June 5 in Yangon, the capital city of Myanmar. The conference expects the attendance of 900 delegates from 55 nations, including President Benigno Aquino III of the Philippines and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung of Vietnam. It is also the international gathering of senior decision makers from world’s leading industries such as AirAsia, Chevron, Mitsubishi, and Visa, providing abudant source of business opportunities for entrepreneurs.
The conference takes place in the context of Myanmar becoming an attractive destination for global investors thank to its ongoing reforms and available economic resources. Some side activities include seminars relating to energy and financial matters among heads of state.
Within the framework of WEF, the Chairman and CEO of FPT Group will have a meeting with senior leaders of Myanmar to discuss partnership and business possibilities of FPT in this country.
Myanmar has been considered potential market for FPT since the company opened its prepresentative office here in February 2013.
FPT Representative Office in Myanmar shall represent the group to form relationship with the Burma government, ministries, industries, ICT associations and clients requiring IT application.
It also takes part in researching and expanding distribution business by opening a network of retail shops; developing a pool of programmers and facilitating FPT’s existing clients, especially Japanese ones, to develop software in Myanmar. The office is also seeking for opportunities in the areas of system integration, e-government, banking, internet and education.
It will also act as a bridge for member companies within FPT group to expand their business in this promising country. The Office is under thorough set up and expects to soon come into operation.
