FPT – Connecting E-citizens
The Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology will take part in Vietnam Computer Electronics World Expo 2008 from July 16th to 19th 2008 with the message: “FPT - Connecting E-citizens”. At the exhibition, FPT hopes to demonstrate an interconnected world where E-citizen’s lives are simplified and convenient thanks to networking infrastructures and smart integrated electronic applications. This is the chance for E-citizens to become acquainted with the futuristic world.

With its traditional advantage in ICT, FPT depicted E-citizen’s future lives with its current IT products and services such as Wifi and Bluetooth connection, notebooks, cell phones, images-printer-cum-phone… Vitalk – a cell phone chat application and eMap – GPRS road-finder are considered to be breakthroughs for Vietnamese software industry.
Devoid of distribution products, FPT’s exhibit presents a glimpse of E-citizen’s futuristic lives, where they are cared for every moment of the day, connected and in control of every transactions. Human labor and time are freed from worry of basic needs, with more time and efforts to devote to more sophisticated needs such as perception, creativity, aesthetics, self-display…
This futuristic world is only possible through the provision of internet infrastructures and access points by FPT Telecom, the development and installation of software applications and solutions for public services, banks, securities trading companies, schools, hospitals by FPT Information System, shopping, entertainment needs taken care of by FPT Telecom and FPT Distribution....
FPT’s businesses can be viewed as points in a circle, sharing the strength of ICT to create a connected world for clients.
Beside infrastructure development and provision of electronic products to E-citizens, FPT is also placing new focus on improving perception and teaching IT skills for E-citizens through its FPT University, technology transfer training courses, consultation activities (ERP consultation), IT products customer care…
FPT participation in annual ICT exhibitions is meant to give society and E-citizens a preview of the current IT trend, helping them to become familiar to a not-too-distant future world. FPT’s activities are aimed at clearing the basic obstacles to a national E-government – nationwide ICT infrastructures and individual ICT skills.
Speaking at the exhibition, Mr. Hoàng Minh Châu – Deputy General Director of FPT – said: “Connectivity is an undeniable part of life nowadays. Convenient and stable connectivity is the prerequisite for the growth of the country during the period of integration. Every IT company has the responsibility to share in the national aim of E-Government. FPT simply starts from the demand for connectivity of clients – E-citizens – a part of E-government – to construct a complete connectivity network for E-citizens’ use. This also is a business opportunity for us”.
With the “Digital Home” model in 2006, “Creativity City” in 2007, and “Connecting E-citizens” model this year in 2008, FPT has confirmed its “E-citizen” strategy, improving the lives of Vietnamese through technology, connecting Vietnam to the world.
