FPT donates 100 million VND to the victims of Agent Orange

On the night of April 01, 2009, in order to commemorate the death of the late musician Trinh Cong Son, a concert was organized in HCMC for the songs of Trinh Cong Son with the title “Mum – The lonely wing”. The money from this concert will be transferred to the fund of the victims of Agent Orange. FPT Corporation donated 100 million VND to the fund on the night of the concert.

The concert was organized by singer Thai Hoa and Phương Nam Corporation (PNC) at “Café Sách Phương Nam” (Phuong Nam Book Café) at No. 03 Nguyen Oanh, Go Vap District, HCMC.

Nearly 20 songs by Trinh Cong Son was sung to demonstrate the deep understanding and the wish to share of the artists towards the pains of war of the victims of Agent Orange as well as the desire to continue the flow of thoughts and feelings left behind by Trinh Cong Son.

The second concert night to raise fund for charity will be held in Hà Nội on April 03, 2009. At the end of the concert, all the money from tickets and donation will be transferred to the Association of Vietnamese Dioxin-infected Children and the Association of Vietnamese Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims

Mr. Bui Quang Ngoc – FPT Deputy General Director (on the left), is presenting the symbolized 100 million VNDs to Ms. Tran Thi My Quyen (in pink clothes on the right) – a victim of Agent Orange, a respresentative of the Association of Vietnamese Dioxin-infected Children .

Mr. Bui Quang Ngoc – FPT Deputy General Director said: “As a fan of Trinh Cong Son’s music representing thousands of fans of his music in FPT, I believe that the action of raising funds for the dioxin-infected victims is totally suitable with the humanity values which have been shown in the songs of the late musician Trinh Cong Son. Every year on this occasion at FPT, we always organize concert nights for his music to commemorate him and sing together to love the life more and become closer to each other.”

On March 21, 2009, FPT Corporation cooperated with GFO (Gentle Fund Organization) – a Singaporean non-profit organization - to open a Learning Centre at Dieu Vien Pagoda in Thuy Duong Commune, Huong Thuy District, Hue Province.

FPT contributed a computer lab with 18 computers and 01 host computer with the total value up to 150 million VNDs to help poor children who are fond of learning in Hue to approach information technology.
