FPT earned 968 billion dongs of pretax profit in the first five months

In spite of difficulties of the domestic economy, FPT’s services and software businesses have well maintained steady growth. After five months, the corporate revenue reached VND 9,793 billion, completing 106% of plan, an equivalence of 36% of the year plan

Profit-before-tax was VND 968 billion, completing 100% of five month plan and 37% of the year plan. Corporate profit-after-tax and profit-after-tax of parent company were VND 796 billion and 592 billion, equivalent to 36% and 35% of year plan respectively. After five month, each share earned 2,162 dongs, completing 35% of plan.

The corporation’s service and software businesses continued their steady growth rate despite economic context remained challenging. Software outsourcing increased by 34% compared to the same period last year. Software development for domestic market and IT services grew 47% and 19% in comparison with the same period of 2012. Telecommunications services have well maintained growth acceleration at 18% after five months.

The Nikkei Award granted by Nikkei Inc., one of the leading telecommunication groups of Japan, for FPT Chairman and CEO Truong Gia Binh for his contribution to the Regional Growth has drawn great attention from the public. Binh was also the first Vietnamese businessman awarded by Nikkei since its first award launched 18 years ago.

Other business lines such as Software Development, System Integration, Education, and Distribution-Retail have achieved positive business result.

Especially, FPT IS had successfully defeated two Chinese leading telecom equipment suppliers and a Thai contractor to sign the telecom software contract with Lao Telecom Company in the project “implementation of the central Network Operation Center- NOC”. This had brought more confidence for “made-in-Vietnam” software to compete in the international arena.

In telecommunication only, the software solution developed by FPT IS has brought more than 10 million USD for Vietnam.

In distribution-retail, FPT signed cooperation agreement with Apple, being its authorized distributor of iPhone in the Vietnamese market.

Under this new cooperation scheme, FPT Distribution (a member of FPT Trading) is now the authorized distributor of Iphone (without SIM or bundled mobile subscription package). It is also the first company to distribute all product ranges of the Apple (Mac, iPod, iPad, and iPhone) in Vietnam.
