FPT earned USD 1,253 billion in the first seven months
The business activities of the Group in July 2010 were carried out right on schedule. The revenue for the month reached more than 1,441 billion dongs, increasing the revenues for the last seven months to approximately VND 11,420 bn, jumping 18,8% compared with a year a go. The Group’s profit in July went high at VND 166 bn, which leads the total profits over the seven months to VND 1,253 bn, up 28% compared with the same period last year.

More than 1000 staff employed
By the end of July 2010, there have been about 1000 staff freshly contracted by FPT Software. The company also achieved its 2010 recruitment goal and has continued to hunt for 4000 IT men from 2010 to 2012.
FPT Telecom to have the first Cisco expert
On July 16, Mr. Nguyen Truong Thang- Network Operating Center (NOC) manager of FPT Telecom became the first member of FPT to receive the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certificate on Service Provider through self-studying. The CCIE certificate he got is among the world’s most prestigious IT degrees, which is also the most difficult one by Cisco to achieve. It normally takes an applicant 600 hours at minimum to practice on network devices and wins him nearly US$ 16,000 for an eight month to one year course.
ViOlympic winners awarded
On July 30, the Ministry of Education and Training and the FPT Group granted the ViOlympic awards (the national internet-based mathematics contest) to individual and organization winners for the 2009–2010 school year. At primary level, there are 7 gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze medals and 10 honorable certificates to be given to school children in cities and provinces. At the secondary level, 7 gold, 14 silver and 19 bronze medals and 6 honorable certificates were also granted. It was notable that the contest had attracted the attendance of more than 4000 oversea Vietnamese students.
ViOlympic, the online mathematic contest through the website www.violympic.vn , is designed specifically for primary and secondary schools with various brain teasing tests.
FPT Information System received compliment note from the Minister of Finance
On July 18, on the occasion of ten year anniversary of Vietnam’s stock market (20/07/2000 - 20/07/2010), FPT Information System received the compliment note for “contribution to the development of Vietnam’s stock market” granted by the Minister of Finance. FPT IS was the only IT company to receive the Minister’s note this time.
FPT IS opened representative office in Dak Lak province.
The Dak Lak representative office of FPT IS at 200 Phan Chu Trinh, Buon Ma Thuot town was officially opened in the morning of July 29. This is among actions to promote FPT IS’ presence throughout Vietnam. The office is responsible for representing the company in communicating and trading with clients in the central highland region including the provinces of Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Dak Nong. At the moment, FPT IS is the only IT company in Vietnam to provide 24x7 maintenance services across the nation.
Launching the first Real Estate solution
In mid July, FPT Software Solution Company (a member of FPT Software) signed the contract to implement the first real estate solution with Dat Xanh Real Estate Company worth USD 167,000. The two-phase project expects to last from July to November 2010. The first phase of the project is running with the implementation of management modules including real estate system, accounting finance and human resources. The solution is developed on the platform of Dynamis SL, which has been successfully applied by more than 20 clients in Mexico, Egypt and Indonesia. This is considered potential solution suitable with most of ERP-empowered enterprises. The Dat Xanh company is now having a network of eleven branches in the southeast and southwest provinces.
FPT Telecom’ new MegaSave package saves cost for internet users.
Since mid July, FPT Telecom has introduced the new internet service package called on-demand- MegaSave for its customers across the nation (excluding Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City). With the download and upload speeds of 3,072 Kbps and 512 Kbps, respectively, the new on-demand-MegaSave helps save cost by flexibly calculate the user rate based on their consumed volume without taking into account the monthly fee. Accordingly, the first 3GB of data costs VND 150,000 and each following 500 MB-block costs 25,000 dongs only.
Traffic vehicles management software launched
FPT Software has finished the traffic vehicle management software named “Vehicle Tracking System”. This is the system that helps to manage traffic vehicles by tracking their location by a sensor-enabled-GPS device. The system allows users to report their urgent status to the tracking center and gives warnings on over-speed and the vehicle’s health.
Road-show organized to introduce FPT F99 mobile phone
On July 15, the road show to introduce the FPT F99 mobile phone, held at the Vietnam Computer Electric World Expo 2010, attracted the attention of the majority of visitors. Freshly launched since late May, the FPT F99 mobile phone has waken up the discovery taste of the young generation by introducing the applications store named F-Store and has recently become of interest in the technology market.
