FPT Information System provides free management function update of assisted loans for banks

The program is applicable nationwide and lasts from February 23, 2009 to end of March 2009.

Update period for each bank is 10 days.

FPT Information System will also implement upgrade for necessary functions such as: increase management capacity of transaction offices for branches, up from 9 offices per branch (as per the current SmartBank 2008 version); and increase group command capacity to over 31 groups...

This is an important function, provides effective assistance to the management of recipients of assisted loans pursuant to Decision No. 131/QĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister and Circular 02/2009/TT-NHNN of the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam.

On January 23, 2009 the Prime Minister signed Decision 131/QĐ-TTg on banking interest assistance (4%/annum) for individuals, organizations requesting loans for the purpose of doing business from February 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009.

February 3, 2009 the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam – Mr. Nguyễn Văn Giàu signed Circular 02/2009/TT-NHNN detailing the guidelines for the implementation of assisted loans.

Pursuant to this Circular, banks are required to detail lists of assisted customers, manage assisted funds for these individuals, manage the assisted fund received from the State Bank and pay interests for assisted loans…

Faced with these demands, manual implementation and management will be difficult and ineffective.

Fulfilling its commitment to customer service and assistance, FPT – IS has added a new Assisted Interest function to its core banking SmartBank application, and provided free updates of the new application to current SmartBank users. The new function will assist banks in the following tasks:

• Specify loans eligible/non-eligible for assisted interests.
• Manage the funds received from the State Bank of Vietnam and make good interests on these loans.
• Collect interests in case of loans eligible for assistance are refused by the State Bank of Vietnam for any reason.

FPT – IS has updated the application for 5 banks.
