FPT IS builds Information Security Management System (ISMS) for Bao Viet Group
On 31st March 2011, representativesof FPT Information System Corporation (FPT IS) and Bao Viet Group signed a contract to imoplement the project “Building Information Security ManagementSystem ISMS for Information Technology Block- Bao Viet Group” at Bao Viet IT Block office at 71 Ngo Sy Lien, Hanoi.

On behalf of the project team, Mr.Van Anh Tuan - project director from FPT IS briefed the project implementation plan. Accordingly, the project will perform the following tasks within 8 to 15 months :
· Establish an ISMS for the Bao Viet Group IT block in accordance with international information security standard ISO/IEC 27001:2005
· Coordinate with organization certifying ISO/IEC 27001:2005 to assess and apply for the ISO/IEC27001: 2005 certificate for IT Block - Bao Viet Group.
· Support the reassessment of ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certificate for the next two years.
ISO/IEC27001:2005 is an international standard for information security managementcompiled by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electro-technical Commission (IEC) in 2005. The implementation of an ISMS is a prerequisite to apply for a full certificate .
By choosing FPT IS as the consultant and implementer of the project, Bao Viet Group expects to establish a secure information infrastructure for its IT block to ensure information security, gain the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 international certification, and create a foundation for establishing an ISMS for the entire Bao Viet Group. Furthermore, the project aims to raise the awareness and responsibility of IT staff in information security in the context that the insurance industry has been modernized and optimized for international integration .
Mr. Alan Royal – CIO of BaoViet Group emphasized: “Bao Viet Group is constantly expanding various business domains and requires a comprehensive information security system. At this time, we focus on upgrading this system within the IT Block and hope that the project team would help our ISMS gain the ISO/IEC27001: 2005 certificate within committed time”.
