FPT-IS will deploy the project “Public Internet access points”
On June 08, 2009, FPT-IS received the announcement of winning the bid “Public Internet access points” within Period 1 of the Project “Improving the capacities of using computers and accessing public Internet in Vietnam.” This is a project sponsored by the non-refunded capital of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) for Vietnamese government.

Period 1 of the project will be deployed in models in Thai Nguyen, Nghe An and Tra Vinh provinces, including material facilities, desks and chairs, libraries, data base, host computers, servers, printers, switches, Internet access facilities at provincial and district libraries as well as commune culture-post office points, training residents how to use computers and access the Internet.
After deploying Period 1, the Project Management Board of Vietnamese government, BMGF and independent assessing offices will assess the effectiveness of the project. If successful, the project will be deployed nationwide.
FPT-IS will start to deploy Period 1 of the project at the beginning of August 2009.
